Metroid yellow label.

Stupid question:

Found a NES Metroid, Yellow Label version.  I've seen a lot of the sprite gray version, not this one.  It has a typo: "Mad in Japan" instead of "Made in Japan".  do all yellow labels have this typo?

  • Mine does. I'm guessing they all do, or the majority at least.
  • mine does as well
  • Wow, I never noticed that before. That's crazy. I wonder why they didn't release a -2 to correct it?

    or did they?

  • If I've learned one thing collecting NES, it's that anything is possible (ie, 3-screw DK Jr. Math? WTF?!)

  • Those Japanese are so MAD! Haha, very cool spot, ive never noticed this either.
  • I never noticed that either, but we all know that I don't proofread very often image

  • Dont tick off the Japanese or they will hire a mercenary to get you!
  • Nintendo Seal of Quality + Typo in a 3-letter phrase = FAIL!!
  • We dont notice it now, they didnt notice it then. Could be a movie title: Angry Asian Man 2: Mad in Japan!
  • haha, I just checked mine, and it's mad in Japan too. Silly Samus, you're mad in AMERICA now!
  • She was big in Japan too.
  • They must've been "mad in Japan" back in those days. I'm still searching for a Metroid w/yellow label in the wild.

**edit** i didn't read all of the "mad in japan' jokes already made. whoops. lol

  • I'm always mad in Japan. always.
  • that's crazy that someone just notices it now. i've never noticed that either. nice catch.
  • I wonder if any of the yellow Metroids actually say "Made in Japan".

    Variant collectors look out! image
  • Count me in the MAD IN JAPAN Yellow Metroid club.
  • I just handed my wife the cart and asked her to spot the error. It took her about 15 seconds before she noticed. What a great find!
