Awesome man, I'm definitely picking up a copy!
Glad to hear it!
Is your user name based on Dario Argento's film?
It's okay I guess, but when it comes down to it these are just collections of information you can find anywhere now for free and what amount to basically short game reviews.
You have to slog through a lot of poor writing, excess verbiage, and misinformation when reading reviews online. My book sums up the games concisely, and you can take the book to conventions and game stores.
No thread crapping please. Damn.
Sorry, wasn't my intent. I was basically just asking for a justification of the high price (especially since many pages include huge graphics as well). I also wanted to inform others of the math, so they would be informed before they purchased.
But I did offer my support as well by saying that I will make the purchase if the price ever drops.
Most of the pages do not have huge graphics on them. I own a copy of this and ive read through parts of it and it is a very well put together book.
I was just going by some of the sample pages.

I know, I was just letting you know.
The book looks pretty sweet to me. Question though, are the graphics all in black and white like on the sample pages?
Yes, the photos are all black-and-white.
The price is due in part to the low print run (this is relatively esoteric subject matter from a specialty/literary publishing house), and to the hardcover, textbook-like binding. The publisher sets the price. It's out of my hands, and it could be years before either book is published as a paperback.
Probably would have been better to go with Cafepress. Yeah, I know, it's a vanity press, but for something like this they print on deman and you could have sold it for a lot cheaper and possibly got more interest in it. And yeah, some reviews aren't the best, but it's easy to find that information.
I would much rather have a publisher, editor, and a real publishing company.
I've got it today form Amazon, it's a nice guide and reference for me to NES games. I like that the unlicensed are included too. I don't mind black and white pics... Nice cover as well...
I'm glad you are pleased with your purchase!
Thanks,
Brett
