VGA Grading - BAH!

  • An "85 or better" goal is much more realistic in my opinion. But 90 is a nice goal, albeit a lofty one! Agree with Adam, 90 seems about tops for NES, with maybe only a few higher-graded exceptions so far.
  • I'd like to reiterate my offer above. Frost, I'm interested in buying your CV2.

I noticed in another thread that someone posted their grading report card, and VGA listed a seam split as a "factory defect", and didn't drop the grade because of it. Since price stickers are obviously something that can't be removed without damage, how do they handle that? I haven't seen any graded games with price stickers, so I'm assuming they don't grade well.

VGA will typically remove the price sticker if you ask them to and somehow they do it flawlessly.  It is very difficult to get a grade of 90 with a price sticker though...I haven't seen many (any?) with those.

Really?  Wow...I am going to have to send this Contra in to get graded then.  Thanks for the info!!
  • just out of curiosity, how much does it cost to get a game graded?

Let me know how it goes.

I have a couple of Contra games myself, one with sticker residue and one which I would say is mint.

I would like to get them graded but shipping overseas and the risk of custom opening the seal, scares me.
