Anyone have a local network of collectors?
I really want to make a network for game collectors in the Austin area... just so we can trade, talk about local places that sell games, and so on...
Anyone have a network like that where you live? How should I go about it? Anyone have any suggestions?

TN. is loaded with collectors.. and a bunch of NA weridos!
Ray, TN is full of NA peeps.. and if you miss the second NA function is TN, I think you really don't live in TN..
I'm in Austin, too. So you are the one taking all the good finds in the wild!!
LOL, yeah that would be me!!! I have found quite a few lately I am a teacher and have had some time off lately. I am going back to work tomorrow (well off and on this month with inservices) and I guess I wont be spending as much time looking.
Good to know there are other NES collectors in the area (I hope there are enough good finds to go around
If you are interested in trading send me a PM!
I'm in Dallas. Sucks Texas is so big.
Try living in Ontario!
That being said, though, I've met with tons of local, and not-so-local collectors around here. There are tons of swap meets in Toronto that I always go to. Albailey lives really close to me, and so does tmlfan. There are a few other collectors I know around here but not many post on NA.

At least you guys have a huge-ass population there... Alberta is much bigger, with far less people! Plus, we don't have swap meets or flea markets around here. The closest one I've found in the province is 5 hours away from where I live. (And I don't live in the secluded North either... I'm in Southern Alberta)

Well, Dr. Morbis and Wiz live in Calgary, don't they? That's only a few hours from you.
Anyone around here (on NA) from CT besides me. this is a great thread. Hope it snowballs for ya

A moment of silence for the Austinites...half of our flea market burned down yesterday, no word yet if the 2 full-time video game vendors were one of the people who's stock was destroyed. If so, there were many hundreds of NES games lost, many good ones. I'll find out next weekend when they open the other half.

I was pretty sad to hear about the fire... let me know what you find out.

Did you ever go see Mario out there? He has a booth with tons of games, prices were a little high, but he was negotiable if you bought a lot. Good place to get broken systems, too. I hope he didn't get any damage, he was one of the few places to get games without going to GameOver or Gamefellas..

Yeah... I hadnt gone there too much but I go from time to time. I live south of Austin in Kyle and I like the D-Pad in New Braunfels better than Game over or Gamefellas in Austin.
I hear there is a game store that sells NES games in Bastrop but I havent gone to check it out yet.
Well I live in Huntsville AL along with 3 others on here. We are less than 30 min. from Tenn. Are we close enough to count as the Tennessee wierdos or are we the Alabama wierdos?
Alabama Weirdos.. you know Tennesseans couldn't claim anyone from Alabama...

The D-pad is awesome, Ryan is a good guy. I like his store because he bargains, he takes trades (straight trades, not trade-ins) and his prices are decent. I got some much needed NES games there back when they were in the old location. I only make it down that way when I go to San Antonio, and then you HAVE to hit up Bussey's Flea Market! If you are ever driving by, there is a little flea market near Cabella's on I-35 (Kyle? Bastrop?) that has one game seller. Worth a shot now and then.
PS to Austinites: GameOver is having a sale on Sports Titles $4.99 and under - .99 cents. Just picked up a few NES titles for label upgrades (Bases Loaded 3, Jimmy Connor's, Arch Rivals, Dusty Diamond's Softball *just kidding about that last one!*)

Looks like at least one of the video game sellers was hit pretty hard.

I also picked up a copy of Sqoon for 9.99.
