What would happen to your NES collection if you die?

I was just thinking today I have no idea what my wife would do with my NES collection if I died... I think if she tried to sell it she could get a buyer pretty fast but I am worried about someone trying to resell things like my Earthbound Repo cart as a real cart.

Anyway... what would happen to your collection if you died?

  • My collection would all go to my little brother. All my family knows those are my wishes...
  • hopefully my boy will hang on to them. but when im gone it really doesnt matter what happens to them
  • I've told my wife who to get into contact with about my collection if something ever happened to me.
  • all my nes stuff would go to my lil sister and my GF

  • I'd get my parents to burn it.

Kidding, it'd go to my friends.
  • Im immortal so no worries here.
  • I'd honestly have no one to give it to. My parents would probably sell it :/
  • it would go to my family, who know nothing about games or ebay, but they DO know that my room is the most expensive room in the house due to all of the games. im sure they would figure some way out to sell it and make a decent amount of money. im assuming they would have my uncle sell it all on ebay and give him like 25% or something like that. i dont really give a shit what would happen to it... i would be dead, so who cares?!?!?!?
  • My husband would hang on to it and save it for the kids. For some reason my family hangs onto the most mundane things and the items we used everyday. The more valuable stuff that had no true connection to the person is given to friends or sold.
  • My nephew would get everything.
  • Who cares, there ain't no luggage rack in a hearse.
  • My NES collection would just be the tip of the iceberg of problems my family would face if I died because I collect so many things. I would hope my NES collection would be sold off to give my family some money. Like others have said though...I'd be dead so whatever happens happens.
  • Probably sold off or thrown away, no one in my family cares about it but me. If I'm dead though, it won't matter.
  • I don't have plans of dieing until I get a big box Gyromite.
  • I dunno, what do you think, do you think I should will it out to all of you? Actually I have wondered what would happen to my stuff when I die, and really, why should I care, I'd be dead afterall, if I could take it with me I'd most surely do that, otherwise, whatever, doesn't matter.
  • I'm sure my sister would take it. I'm planning on haunting it purely to give my jackass brother in law a hard time.
  • It would go to my parents, and they would surely sell it.

  • it would probably go to my mate.
  • It'd probably end up back at my parents house for my sister's kids to play with. It's possible that my brother would take some of the things from it, but I doubt much. Eventually, either it would end up boxed in the basement at my parents or my sister's kids would take it over.

At worst, it would be sold off at a garage sale for horrifically cheap.
  • I would have them buried with me to take to the afterlife.

On a real note, my fiancee / wife in two weeks would get them. She would probably keep a few of them... Marios, Yoshis, Rescue Rangers, Bubble Bobbles. But, would most likely sell the rest. She has a copy of my price guide so no worries there, but she would probably just sell them all together to get rid of them and the space they're taking up.
  • great question! I'm gonna sit the wife down and make sure she knows to hold onto them until 2031. Unless she remarries, in which case I intend to haunt her, which would be a great excuse to play some of my old games. That's assuming that the afterlife doesn't have access to old gaming systems. So many variables!
  • My wife would probably give it all to my little brother, or sell it.
  • I'll have my family burn it all to get the supply down and prices up for you guys image

But seriously, even though I never intend to sell out, I think the chances of my stuff hitting the market will be even lower if I were to die than if I were alive.  It would go to my family, and I'm basically the only person in my family who's ever been into reselling anything, so it would definitely stay intact and probably be relocated to my parents.  Maybe if my collection isn't finished by the time I die, my twin will end up finishing it for me since he knows what my long-term collection goals are.  I guess we'll see when the time comes image
  • Ninja's can't die... and I'm a Ninja, so there you have it
  • I would have a mosoleum made of NES carts and rest there for all of eternity.
  • if i died right now,its my wishes that my game collection go into storage and for my daughter to get them when shes 25 (shes 4 weeks old right now) and then she can sell them and probably by then they'll be worth way more.
  • My wife would probably eBay it! She's as good as I am at it! image
  • 3 words: NES Cartridge Coffin.
  • If I died, my family would try to sell my collection, some sleaze will lowball them, it'll probably work because they aren't used to buying and selling old games, and they will make a killing reselling it.
  • Im immortal,  never gonna die.
I have considered this and I think if i knew I was going to die, then I would find some way of donating it to NA so we can raise funds for an unreleased proto dump or something similar.
