i suck at ebay...my day is ruined!

  • Are you using a sniping service like snipestreet?

The person who won probably was.
  • i know nothing of this haha
  • I had this one my watch list but forgot to bid. Shipping was ridiculous.
  • Snipestreet or AuctionSentry makes ebay bidding much easier.
  • Also, esnipe.com is good. Free too. They say they charge but they never do.
  • yeah it was. it was like 20 bucks but the starting bid til about the last minute was bid like $10. 30 isnt to bad for all of them.
  • it seems like everyone snipes now, so it is really the only way to go. When I'm in a buying mode, I just usually take my watch list and add everything I want to my snipe list, then just see how it works out. Takes the stress out of bidding. I use gixen - it's free and hasn't failed me yet (www.gixen.com)
  • I don't snipe but I'm not usually going after high demand items
  • I do my own sniping. I don't need no website to do it for me.

Although, typically I just shark Ending soonest, and newly listing buy it nows. Sniping isnt to hard when you first see it with only 2mins left :-p
  • I use myibay.com, it's a great firefox add on.

    Same here.  It's pretty convenient.
I love how the option shows up next to the Share/Print/Report Item links.  Sometimes I feel like it's a part of ebay.
  • why is this in BST?

I do my sniping manually too, I hadn't heard of sites that do it for you until a few days ago, but my strategy hasn't failed me very often. Though if its something with high demand I might have multiple tabs open with bids ready, to minimize wait time, this usually works for me.
  • If it's ending while you work, or while you want to go out, or if you don't feel like sitting up half the night, etc. Sniping works much better.
  • I checked out most snipe services and I like Gixen the best.

Free to use in limited capacity max 10 snipes at once and $6 a year for unlimited bids from 2 different servers.

Me too, I preferred gixen among others in the end.
  • I am so used to posting in this category i posted it here out of habit. Is this bad? haha
  • I use jbidwatcher, but it sucks. only thing i like about it is that i can use it for free, unlimited, and its not website-based.
  • I've never used a sniping service, I honestly didn't know they existed. I usually just do my own dirty work, waiting until the last 5 seconds or so and putting in the highest bid I'd be willing to actually fork over. Maybe I'll check out Gixen in case I can't get online for an auction I'm really wanting.
