Athletic World "Error" Box? My box has two tops!

So I'm preparing for my next sell-off wave and I'm looking at my MINTY AW (Non-FFF box) and realized it has two tops!!! Wtf?! Has this been covered before?  I've never heard of any games having two top flaps, this is quite bizarre.  Here's some pictures:

How many people have these or is this version even tracked?  Very strange to say the least...

This one has been known for a long time now, I think I remember reading a thread from Erik (maybe?) right around the time this site was started with a similar find. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Yeah, I also discovered this a few years back, I think it's the same for all of the round seal version boxes. Anybody have a round seal version without two tops?

i just got 2 or 3 of these in that big lot i bought. but my sealed copy is not like this. does anyone have a sealed copy of this?

Yeah if anyone cares, this box is made of a different cardboard too. This is the REALLY durable kind, the strongest I've seen so far. There's a few other NES boxes out there made of a slightly different material too, W&W 3 comes to mind.

My CIB Athletic World is of this double-ender variety...it's not rare by any stretch.

I have this too, it's the black seal variation between the FFAW version and the white seal variation

Just checked mine, and it's like that as well. Does anyone know if Athletic World came with the thinner, blue stryofoam? The manual is too tall to fit in with a normal white one.
