GameBoy Kiosk / Display

Obviously in need of a good cleaning, but I'll leave that to another day. It's almost identical to the one on eBay. The most obvious difference is that this one has a GameBoy Pocket instead of the original, and the stickers on the display correspond to the Pocket version. Underneath those stickers, though, are stickers ffor the original. In fact, when this one made the switch over to a GameBoy Pocket, all that happened (aside from the stickers) was a special display Pocket GB was put into a plastic case that made it the same size as an original so that it would fit in this display.
The way this thing works is there's a cable coming out of the multilink port on the GB that connects to a DemoVision unit inside the display.
Here's a couple pics of that thing:

Pretty crappy pictures, I should addd, but I was in a hurry and didn't feel like taking the display completely apart. Anyway, the DemoVision then outputs the GB's display to a regular TV, limits the time youu can play (depending on the dip switch settings) and is hooked up to a reset switch. I find it interesting that there's two inputs for GameBoys on the DemoVision. I've never seen a display that had more than one GB hooked up to it, so I don't know what it's purpose is.
Also, just for kicks, here's this displays big brother:

It works exactly the same, same equipment inside and everything, just on a much bigger scale (a little over 6 feet tall). It also uses the same key as the Nintendo Power Previews unit, which came in handy for me when I picked this thing up, since the seller never had a key for it ![]()
So there's a little information on them. Used from about 1989ish till a little while after the GameBoy Color came out. Questions? Comments? Fire away.

I've got a broken 52" projection TV sitting in my Garage. Maybe I oughta do a little conversion to it, and make my own Giant Gameboy.
