I was never really a collector. I was merely picking up a game now and then. But if you keep doing that for a long period of time (had an NES almost my entire life, being 26 today) you will eventually get quite some games and the question regarding the total amount of game arises.
I did a check at Wikipedia and quickly felt that being located in Sweden means a much smaller game library for the NES and that the US was not only offering a larger set of official games but also a big library of unlicensed games. I decided to collect all of them but leaving pirates and protos of out the picture. Drawing the line between pirates and unlicensed games was a bit hard but after founding NTSC and PAL NES Game List (Version 3) by Stanley J. Stepanic I removed the pirates and test carts and went by this one.

Ebay became my new friend and a got alot of games for small amounts of dollars. Games are in general much cheaper on ebay than on the Swedish counterpart so buying games in lots of about 30 was usually a good deal since you could sell some here to cover the extra shipping costs.
Now I have about 500 games and finding games is harder since many do not ship outside the US/Canada making it hard to get those rare ones. I have the benefit of getting the rare PAL exlusives such as Mr. Gimmick and Rodland easier but there are so many rare US exclusives I still consider it a huge disadvantage

I hope to learn a lot from this site regarding collecting. I want to create a better excel sheet for my colelcting since I know the list I have is not complete and it contains Sachen and HES games that I need to learn more about to understand where to find. Hope to learn a lot from you guys!
