How many game collectors out there?

  • I think there are a lot more than we think, many who don't use the internet (hard to believe). In fact, I went into a thrift shop the other day, and the guy had some really mint NES games, so I asked if he had more. He said he had about 500 unique NES games, and he only got them because he used to work accross the street from a Goodwill, he just checked every day. This guy wouldn't know eBay or NA if it kicked him in the head. Speaking personally, I had more than 2/3 of my NTSC set and was an INSANE collector before I ever joined any online communities. Hell, I only joined NA this year! I got most of my collection at the flea market and GameStop (yes, kids, they used to sell plastic!) So in conclusion, there are many more 'grassroots' collectors out there, I think.
  • Man that is impossible to determine. You would need to first make some kind of line of what is a collector and what is not.
  • I think barbie is a good test image
  • Well in the last 90 days on the bay 46 copies of Barbie have been sold!
  • None of my personal friends are game collectors. I consider myself a collector because I purchase games and don't play them. I do love playing, but only the ones that I played as a child.
