What is a reasonable price for a Famicom system? I'd like to purchase one eventually and just get a few games for it. Just just looking for the console alone, in good condition.
I've seen them for around $35-50 for a regular one. They are easy enough to find. I would check out the forums over at www.famicomworld.com if you want to try and pick one up. Not too sure on the A/V ones, but quite a bit more, I think (maybe $100 for a loose one?).
yea maybe $75-$100 or so for an AV Famicom. it really is worth it. It uses AV where the original Famicom only uses RF. Also it has removable controllers, where the original system used hardwired contrllers. Once they break your S.O.L. . Lastly it has a smaller footprint.
That is the reason why to pay the extra monies and get an AV Famicom.
Get a Twin Famicom, has the AV output plus the disk drive built in....or course it's more expensive....
I've got a black one of those I'm planning to sell as well.. along with a bunch of other stuff if anyone is interested... I just haven't gotten around to listing my extra fami stuff yet
not sure about a price on the Twin though
@shipsteam - it's a third party system made by Sharp.
It should pointed out that while the Twin Famicom was a third party console, it was an official third party console. Nintendo made deals with Sharp back in the day to produce their own version of the console for sale. This is why the USA NES TV's you see that pop up on ebay from time to time are made by Sharp, as well.

Not true, you can replace the controllers on an original Famicom, you just have to open up the case to do it. You can find replacement pads on ebay all the time.

ok, let me say you can't change out controllers easily. May people don't like opening the system,or cant do it so at that point your screwed.

EDIT: Found an extra AC adapter that works for this.

they have great prices and a fair shipping price, not overpriced like in ebay and others import stores.
