Question about a sealed game....

I just recently picked this up on ebay, it has no h-seam so I'm confused on if it's a true factory seal or a reseal.

Comments

  • I know little about factory seals, but that looks like a horrible reseal to me.
  • i think the seal should at least be straight
  • Well, it is a Majesco release.
  • factory sealed Majesco release. There are TEENY TINY ventholes on the front and back (seriously, very small). These releases all had pretty much smack up seal jobs on them.
  • LOL. Have we gotten an influx of new collectors recently or what?? We need a guide for the rookies ^_^.

Couple of things to look for in factory seals

    NES

    Horizontal Seams
    Vent Holes
    No Creasing on edges
    Straight seal
    Look for markers
    Overlapping seam at ends
    Hang Tab Yellowing

    SNES
    Vertical Seam
    Ripples on the vertical seam
    Vent holes
    No Creasing
    No Markers
    Overlapping seam at end

Markers - I mean that when you "open" a black box game it will crease white and some resellers use black markers to try to cover it up.

  • alright alright, just looked like a reseal to me image. Like I said, don't know much about them. Can't belive that box is in that bad of shape and there isn't a tear in the seal though - that was my biggest "if".
  • It's a reissue. You can tell because the back of the box says "Assembled in Mexico"
  • thanks for those notes frost. I'll be sure to remember those.

  • i would love a guide if anyone wants to put one together. I'd also love a price sheet image
  • yes, it's the Majesco re-release. Doesn't look legit honestly and even if it is it's in pretty crappy shape.

price sheet is hard to do, changes all the time.
  • I can put together a "sealed guide" w/ pics. It will take me some time to get everything. Maybe in next months E-Zine or something for NA?

yes crappy shape, but i think it is legit. if you see the picture with the front of the box you can make out some small ventholes. i very well could be wrong though image
