Getting Sharpie marker off of boxes?

Is there anyway to do this without destroying the box? I have a pretty deadly arsenal of tricks and chemicals for getting anything off of carts, but I have never run into a box I wanted clean... until now. \

Suggestions?

  • what magic do you have that we don't know about for cart clean up?
  • I actually did find a way; with normal goof-off, just be sure to apply it gently in small amounts with a cotton ball. I'll show pics later.
  • what in the name of holy god is goof off?
  • goo gone?
  • Goof Off is graffiti remover, I think.
  • i just Started using Mr Clean magic eraser. It works awesome for carts, way better than Goo Gone. IMO

It's just your average stain remover.

Anyways, can you tell where the sharpie was?

    lol
  • wow. sharpie b gone! gonna get me a bottle TODAY!
  • i use goof off too. be very careful though, it will remove color if used incorrectly.
  • I was gonna say magic eraser and even just goo gone on boxes will remove the color if rubbed too much. It's better to just let it soak and then lightly try to remove it and see if it works. Also I use magic eraser on carts but you have to be careful there too if you scrub too much or too hard it will wear down the cart and you can definetly tell where you used it.
  • Don't use Goof Off on the plastic either (stick with a milder cleaning substance like Windex). It'll leave a light, but permenant, stain, and it just drives me nuts.

^^ I learned this lesson image Definitely rubbed too much.  I don't understand how people use goo gone so effectively.  When I've tried it always leaves a greasy type stain on the cardboard (and even on labels if it gets under the plastic coating).
