Applying Prices

Anyone else sometimes find themselves compare their normal everyday purchases to the cost of games you don't have yet?

For instance, the other day I filled the gas tank in my truck and I thought to myself something along the lines of, "There goes Challenge of the Dragon."

  • Not really, but I do sometimes look at junk I've accumulated and consider how many hours of my life went into producing the requisite income.
  • haha. I used to do that with food. I would buy like five frozen meals and would think, man, there's that such and such game down the drain.
  • not really games are for me are secondary. I think more of if I sold this game I could pay off that bill. gaming is fun but i would rather have a full belly than a game
  • yes. i get a bill for a dinner and i'm like, damn it, bubblebobble 2.
  • haha I do that ALL the time. The other week I was pumping gas and i was like "damn, Menace Beach.....BOXED"
  • yeah I do that every now and then. haha. me and my girlfriend went out on a date to a place she likes. more on the expensive side. the bil for both of us was like 60. (kinda expensive for me) and i hated the food I just put up with it becaus eshe likes it. well anywho. i got the check and i just payed it and SHE was like, wow there goes a couple of those boxed games you like, dont take me here again i feel bad haha

    Hahahahha, awesome XD

i think that sometimes too, but i know i cant calculate my life around material stuff in such way

  • I do this all the time. Pretty much everything I buy, I think of what game I could have gotten for it.

For example, I went to Brazil for 2 and a half weeks (including everything - flight, food, accommodation, etc...) for the price of a loose Stadium Events (which I own).

The question is... do I sell it, and go somewhere else?
  • No I compare everything to how many hours I have to work to get it. That really puts things in perspective.
  • yeah, I compare more to hours. Like this weekend, I made $33 at my folks yard sale and sat there for about 4 hours so a whopping $8/hr. I was upset...lol.

Gaming for me is also secondary, hence why I buy the gas not the game. It's not even a question about what comes first. It's just an interesting thought that pops in my head every now and then.
  • I seem to do this both ways. Eating out for a week raises the biggest issue for me. $50 bucks for eating out. $20 bucks for making my own. That's a semi-rare game each week I could be adding to the collection. Still, I do love Chipotle.
  • Yes, I did this last night even. Tracy and I were counting our vacation fund (we each put $20 in a jar every paycheck)and we were up to like $500, and I said "Damn, there's my Cheetahmen 2 money."

    She didn't like that.
