Official SNES controllers

Yeah, kind of a ridiculous thread but I had one in the past on n64 controllers and why they were so expensive. I see SNES controllers that sell on ebay for $10-12 each. Are these flukes? I searched snes official controller and most do hit these prices. Are they that much better than 3rd party controllers?

While we are at it, NES controllers will fetch $3 and then $10. If you saw some in the wild, what is the max you would pay per controller if you took them all? I have an unreal amount of them but if cheap enough, I could always pick up more.

    This is slightly off topic but I bought a controller I thought was legit from a local game store and got home only to find out that it was a fake. I guess I should have known, considering they were brand new in the box and only $11.99. I'd love to pick up a new or near new official SNES controller though. PM me if you have some you want to sell!

    I can't believe that they are going for that much. I have like 8 just lying around not in use, and several NES controllers that I don't use either. I wouldn't ever pay more than a buck in the wild, but now that you mention this I may have to change that. If we can confirm that they really can go for that much without being flukes, I'm gonna have to start paying some more for them.

    Yeah, those boxes they come in make them look legit. I'm not sure if they really are or not. I don't think so but don't see how they can put the nintendo logo on the controller and the seal on the box. I don't have enough SNES controllers to sell but tons of NES. I rarely sell them because I always pick up systems without controllers. Just thought these sales were high.

    I love flipping SNES controllers for $12 a pop at Xmas time. Yes, official ones really are worth that much if you're patient or have a well-stocked eBay store to sell from.

    That is simply amazing. I ended up passing 2 this week in a junk shop. I got the SNES adapter for $2 which I thought was the sweetest find of the day but hate I left the controllers.

    The 3rd party controllers just plain suck and its very common for the original brand controllers to have soggy buttons. Playing Megaman X or Super Metroid with a controller that only works some of the time is horrible.
