Ebay price guide

Hey guys, you probably know I'm selling my collection on Ebay right now.  Part of that process was finding prices for all these games.  I searched every single game vs the completed listings on Ebay, and this is what I came up with after a few days.  I was trying to determine what a fair price would be for each game.  The prices here are completed items that actually sold to another party - and I threw out the highest price if it was way higher than the others.  These prices are for loose carts only and do not include shipping.  I'm sure this stuff will fluctuate over time, but this should give you an idea of what people are paying for games right now on Ebay - 9/14/07

Enjoy....

  • $499 for Stadium Events? What e-bay are you looking at? I will take 2 please...LOLimage
  • Nice of you to post that, but some of the prices are waaay off. You'd really need alot more data than what you had to be accurate. The best example I can give from your list is Mega Man 3. It'd be closer to $8-$9
  • Re: SE - That price is fucked - but the rest are good.  look for yourself. image
  • I'm not talking about what a game is theoretically worth based on many different points of data.  I'm strictly talking about what real people are paying for loose carts right now.  Not everyone is as well informed as people here.  Sometimes they just buy what they want.

Here's a recent Mega Man 3 that was close to my listed price:

    See what I mean?
  • Okay but you called it a price guide. It's not a guide for pricing at all, too many games are way off the mark. Because a game will go for a given price once or twice does not mean that's what it is going for now. I sell ten or more Mega Man 3's a month. If they were really going for $15, that would be my price.

    A few more-

    RC Pro AM $10.99?

    Kung Fu $9.99

    Metal Gear $9.99

    Snake's Revenge $9.99

    Casino Kid $8.99

all of the above are around $5 off.
  • Hey pedro I thought you left?
  • All those prices are from recent Ebay auctions that actually sold.  I don't care what you say a game is "worth."  What people actually pay for it is the real market price - and that's the only thing that matters if 1) you are trying to figure out how much to sell something for, or 2) you want to know how much you should bid on something to actually win the item.  You apparently don't like it, so don't look at it.  Some here might find it useful.

  • Just trying to help you out here bro. Go ahead and list RC Pro AM, Metal Gear, Mega Man 3, etc... for those prices and see how long they take to sell. Sure they'll sell eventually, but the amount of ebay fees you'll pay before they do will kill you. Good luck.
  • You're probably right.  That $.08 every 30 days is a killer! LOL
  • It is apparent that you know all there is to know. Nevermind. I guarantee some of the games you have will not sell at their current marked price by Christmas.
  • Of course not.  No Ebay store sells every single item out of their inventory.  I still think you are missing my point.  This is a list of prices people have recently paid for items - Nothing more.  It does give an idea of what some people are willing to pay for something.  It's the same way you'd price a home...check the most recent comps and set your price accordingly.  Of course you could sell a ton more houses if you sold them cheaper.  But if you only have one house to sell, you'd price it as high as the market will allow.
  • Thanks for sharing this with us man, and good luck with your auctions.
  • Nice work on the guide.  It is very appreciated here.
  • Here is a pretty good list of prices and rarity that is pretty well up to date for those who haven't seen it. HERE It has a bit more detail that the other list previously posted image hehe
