Mega Man V CIB for GB

I've just had a rather lengthy... discussion, with a member here over the price of an excellent quality CIB copy of MMV. After doing research on here and ebay for quite some time, and consulting with a couple members who I know have bought them in the last year, I came up with a price range I felt was accurate, and made an offer at the top end of that range for this game. He felt I was very much in error. I am not going to state that price, because I'm hoping to get an accurate assessment from more sources than I can come up with in just PM's, and I don't want there to be any preconceived price notions. I would ask that the member that I am discussing with please refrain from posting here to also keep this as accurate as possible. Thank you to all who can post their opinions. The attached pic is of the actual game we were discussing.

  • Not sure of a going rate at all, but this one had 25 views before it sold for $175: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mega-Man-V-5-Game-Boy-Gameboy-Complete-Very-Rare_W0QQitemZ160363203794QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Games?hash=item2556644cd2&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

I know BIN are never a specific indication of value and yours is a bit nicer, but the fact that it didn't sell to the first 24 people that looked may give a bit of insight. Hope this helps!
  • That seller was on here for a while. He had that listed for about 3 or 4 months at $250 or something. Might have had a best offer I don't remember.
  • ^Actually, that exact copy from the same seller was on price reduction from $199 (which he unsuccessfully tried to get from the beginning of July until Aug 24th), and failed to sell twice at $174.99 before it got picked up.

There was also a different unsuccessful $175 listing:

    So there you all go!
  • For a MM V in mint condition, $200-225 isn't uncommon.
  • If it can help you, I can say that I sold 2 CIB GB Mega Man V in the last three months or so, the first was in slightly less good condition than the one pictured in your thread, and the second was in mint condition like the one you're looking to buy.

The first sold 8 hours after I listed it for a Best Offer of $235 (Listed at $250)

The second sold in 3 three days for a Best Offer of $250 (Listed at $300)

I can say too that I've seen a few selling in auctions for less than that, and if I remember correctly, I bought the nicer one in auction for $125, but the picture was not clear and it might have affected the ending price.

I'd say that a Fair price for a fellow on NA could range between $180-220 for a Mint copy.

I hope it helps you out dude!
  • The first price in my head was $150 from when I was looking about 2-3 years ago. So everything said so far seems about right.
  • That seller works for Me {:

we were not really sure on a price so we slowly reduced it I believe he has another Mega man IV CIB also
