Rebuilding NES collection. Prices?

Hi gang.

I finally regret selling my NES collection.
I find myself yearning to play the classics once agian.

Anyway, in the near future, I will be rebuilding my NES collection. I would like to start out with a system and 50-100 games.

What could I expect to pay?

  • If your buying in bulk, I would say anything less than $3 per cart is not too shabby.

Shameless plug: I have a ton of dupes, like 200 or so. List here. If your looking to buy that many carts, I'm willing to work out a nice deal, certainly much less than what they are listed at. I'd love to reclaim the shelf space image
  • You can find good lots on ebay with the standard favorites- Tyson, Contra, Zelda and Link, Mario 1,2,3, Metroid, etc, for around $2.75 a game. A sniping service will get it done for you most efficiently. Try bidnapper dot com. Figure in $20 for a system on top of that, so for 100 game lot, with a system, and probably a Zapper, $300 shipped.
  • I'll be happy to send you a system for dirt cheap. PM me if interested.

bidnapper huh? Is that any good, and does it cost anything? I use a pretty good free one called snipestreet. It's worked good for me so far. Although, I am curious about bidnapper.
  • I've got a lot of commons that I would sell you for $2.00 each.  It would be a great way to get your collection going.  PM me if your interested.
  • I've got 100 different loose games right now I'd sell to you for $200 + exact shipping. I can throw in a toaster system for $30 or a top-loader for $60. PM me if you're interested.

Hmm, Dain, that's a pretty good deal. Any chance I could pick which games? image
  • I'd like to sell them as a lot, but I can send you the list if you're interested.

Bidnapper has a free trial, 30 days I think. It's been very good for me this year. I buy maybe 15-20 auctions a week, and no problems so far.
  • Thanks for the responses. I see some very interesting offers here. Like I said, in the near future, I hope to buy a lot of games.

I hope it is safe to do transactions with the people on this site, I would hate to get burned...
  • afaik no one has ever been burned on this site. We have a very honest trading community. If someone started scamming people, lets just say they wouldn't be around very long.... image

  • Good luck with rebuilding the collection.  I only sold off 4 games as a kid and kept the rest.  I have since regained the 4.

That said, determine what you want and how you want it.  If you're like me and want your carts to look nice and undamaged, that'll take a little work.  If you aren't concerned with that, then you can usually buy a small collection of 20 or so from someone on ebay for cheap.

P.S.- I believe you'll find nothing but positives for me.image
  • Depending on how patient you are, I feel it's worth a little work at the local thrifts. Sometimes you can find yourself a toaster, or even a few games.
It was about 4 years ago when I started really picking up NES carts and getting "serious" about it, and it all started from a lot (NES, PunchOut, Zelda 2 and Yoshi) I found at Salvation Army for $15 image
  • That's pretty much how I built my collection the first time around. When I started collecting, you could find NES games everywhere. Even 6 years ago I could still get them at thrifts. Now they have become really scarce, and even if I do see one at a thrift, it'll be gone really quick. I can't believe how popular NES collecting has gotten in only a few years.

If I collect at the rate I'm going, I'll be dead before I get 10 games.

Sucks, I had around 100 games before that I collected all myself. (Some I bought new)

That's what being broke will do to you. I had tons of shit with it too, controllers, zappers, NES advantages, powerpads, one powerglove but no sensors.

    Oh well.
