How do you approach a trade?
Just curious how people go about working a trade out in their own minds.
Here is how I usually do it.
I assign everything a value. I use the highest value possible that the item could be worth for every item on both sides of the trade. I then total up the values and try to get them as close as possible to justify an even trade. If I'm trading for something I'm REALLY after or trading items that I don't really care too much about I usually lopside the trade in the other persons favor to make negotiations easier.
On the other side, if I'm trading something I really value or I believe to be pretty rare I throw cash values out the window and usually will only entertain trading for item(s) of equal rarity.
