This was my mistake! [Previously: THIS IS WHY I HATE EBAY!!]
I had an auction for 5 PS2 Network Adapters that ended on September 30th and I sent it on October 1st. I just got an email from the guy today:
So, I sent him the following email back:
Side note: if it was $20 dollars, I'd be upset... but the sale price was $185 and I can't spare the $90 dollars that I spent to buy the adapters. Any help or advice anyone could give would be much appreciated. God bless!
"hay are you playing with me i bought 5 items [ps2 network adapter] but

"The box that I sent had 5 network adapters in it. They were wrapped up
in white paper. In fact, they were the only 5 network adapters that I
had and I sent them all in that box. Does the box look damaged in any
way? If it does, can you take pictures and send it to me, I will have
to do a claim with UPS? If the box isn't damaged, I would make sure
that it came from me. It would have the following information as where
it shipped from:

Also,
check the tracking number and make sure that it is the package that I
sent. The tracking number is [Tracking Number]. Please let me
know and God bless!"
The package weighed 4 pounds and I have proof of delivery (signature) and can pull all of the paperwork from UPS. I even had someone with me while I packed up the network adapters (he wasn't there specifically so I had a witness, but he we were talking while I packed up the boxes). Do you think Paypal would side with me if he tried to do a chargeback or am I screwed??check the tracking number and make sure that it is the package that I

Is there a reason you have to use UPS? They just suck plain and simple.
Sounds like he could be lying about it.
Bottom line is I shipped it to the wrong apartment number. He's at 8B and I shipped it to 2B. I found out the person who signed for the package works for the apartment complex and I called and talked with her. She tried calling the other resident (who lives in 2B), but she wasn't able to get her on the phone. I'm hoping that we will be able to get this all sorted out and get the package to him. I will keep you all updated.
The part that absolutely floored me, though, was that the guy never checked the package that he had to see if it matched the shipping information or tracking number. He must have bought another network adapter online and that was the one that he got.
The part that bothers me about the whole thing is that it was my mistake. I typed in the wrong apartment number when I was shipping the package. It's a stupid mistake that I have NEVER made before. I hope this all turns out OK. I will keep you all informed.
Ya its pretty funny whenever I hear about an ebay or paypal problem, usually it works out that the person involved may have prevented the problem
I contacted the apartment complex and have been speaking with the person who signed for the package. Since it was marked as apartment 2B instead of 8B, it went to 2B's mail. She tried on Friday to get in touch with the tenant, but wasn't able to. I called back on Saturday, knowing that she wasn't in the office, but he wasn't able to help. In fact, he told me the numbers that they have on file are disconnected.
So, fast-forward to this morning. I called and talked to her (Sarah) again and she said that she still hasn't heard anything. I told her about my previous conversation with the guy on Saturday. I asked her, to make sure, that 2B was a resident and not someone who moved out that is still picking up their mail. She said that they were still a resident and that she would go by and knock on their door to see if she can find out. I will update the thread as more information comes up. Thanks for all your support and God bless!
