I have a question about where games are made.

I have seen games that are made in mexico, and some made in japan, but not ASSEMBLED anywhere.

Like all my carts say either made in mexico or made in japan.

but In a lot I got, it had contra III for snes and it has ASSEMBLED IN MEXICO...

Has anyone noticed this? I have 2 copies of contra III both made in mexico and japan, but I have never seen ANY game saying ASSEMBLED in XXXXX anywhere you know?

and the label almost looks pixilated

  • I only have about a dozen SNES carts, but one of mine (Super Star Wars Return Of The Jedi) says assembled in Mexico on it. The label doesn't look too pixelated, but I don't have another one to compare it to.

The Contra III I got today looks the same pixilated and assembled in Mexico

  • thats weird. any clue why?
  • Chances are the carts you all have are Majesco re-releases. They often did re-releases of certain SNES and Genesis games, not to mention making the Genesis 3 system and a re-release of the Game Gear.

My copy of Mega Man X (for instance) says "Made in Mexico" and the back side of the cart doesn't have a label, the text is imprinted in the plastic. This is an example of a Majesco SNES cart.

    Hope this helps. image
  • I'm pretty sure the "assembled in Mexico" carts are the Majesco versions.
