How to RE-assemble a NES

Title says it all, just installed a new 73-pin connector... Now I can't seem to get it screwed back together! Help would be nice, can anyone find me a guide? Thanks.

  • Oh and be careful when you reassemble it. If you tighten some of the screws too much, the games wont lock into place when you push them down. I have had to take them back apart more than once to fix that issue.

The reason its doing that is because it wasnt put back together correctly. Next time you do one look closely at the bottom front of the black cartridge tray. There will be a spot in the middle that protrudes a little. If you dont slide that part UNDERNEATH the motherboard the games will not lock down. The screws are meant to be tightened. Do that and you wont have any problems. Its by far the easiest part to overlook when reassembling.
  • Ah, that's what had me stumped.
  • 73pin and 72pin difference?
  • One is a spelling error.
  • HAHA I thought so, either that or a new invention image
