  • no but that is a good resale lot.
  • Really? I was under the impression that no Atari lot was a good resale lot. A few Xmasses ago I went through about 400 games in lots of 25 apiece and barely made $0.50 per cart on them. And I thought the VCS market had gotten worse since then...
  • The only rare one in there is Gremlins, and Mario Bros. usually sells for a couple bucks.

Honestly, unless you were getting this stuff for 20 bucks, it's not gonna be worth your time.
  • Well Atari can be good.

There is many games that are worth over 50.00

Some are worth close to 800.00

but none in that lot are worth more then 4.00
  • I had an Atari and maybe 10 games or so that I ended up having to give away because no one was interested in buying it. I just avoid Atari games now.
  • Gremlins is definintely the gem of the lot, worth a cool $20. Kool Aid Man is worth a few bucks too.

I'd jump on this in a second... But that's because I can flip Atari consoles locally for $40 each. Even if you sold the consoles for $25 each, you'd get a bunch of free games for you collection (if you collect Atari, that is.)

If you don't collect Atari games and just wanted to flip it all, I'd say it wouldn't be worth the bother.. Loose 2600 games are incredibly hard to get rid of.
  • This lot is so tempting... The seller seems pretty locked on to the price of $75 (and even that was difficult to get to). She said the Gremlins game was worth a lot on Amazon along with Mario Bros. that was worth $10. She tested the systems and said they work.

From the pictures she sent me-

    Mousetrap (Sealed)
    Asteroids (CIB)

    Black Atari System (4 switch)
    Normal Atari System (4 switch)
Atari Jr. (No power cable, not working?)
  • If it was a 7800 pro system Id say do it, However I feel 2600's are pretty useless and like said before $.50 per game. I wouldn't pay more than $50 and that would only be if I wanted it for myself. Last year I bought a 7800 pro w/like 110 games for $80. He originally wanted $120 or more.

I think if you wait that price she wants will lower somewhere near that $40-$50 zone at least in my area it would.

edit: depedning on whats sealed/cib maybe it's a better deal for the price.

I can't express to you just how unlikely any game worth $50 is to show up in a random lot full of clearance crap like this.  Much less an R9 like your $800 price tag would fit.

It's not like NES collecting where random stupid uncommon games are worth $50, both licensed and unlicensed. The valuable rarities for the VCS were mailaways, VERY limited release unlicenseds with the circulation and distribution of homebrews, and contest cartridges.

People who try to complete a VCS set by searching in the wild for lots like this soon meet their doom, and convert to NES collectors because it's far, far easier and a hell of a lot more lucrative.
  • Dan is absolutely correct. The odds of finding even a $25 game in an Atari 2600 lot are about the same odds as you would have as winning $100 on a $1 scratch-off lottery ticket. And then those few games that are worth $500+...I'm willing to bet that you would get struck by lightning *twice* (as in on two separate days) before you find any of them in the wild. I tried...oh, believe me, I tried to put together a CIB Atari 2600 set (two strikes right there, one strike due to the extreme rarity of the higher-end games and how many rare games there are for that system, and the second strike was that I wanted them CIB). I believe I got to 9 CIB (or factory-sealed) Atari 2600 games and about an additional 160-170 loose carts before it sunk into my hard head how stupidly improbable that it was for me to complete that set (and I was a broke college kid when I realized this).

On topic...I'd probably stay away from that lot at $75. Assuming they're in great shape, you might get $15-$20 from Gremlins and $8 from Kool-Aid Man, but outside of that, good luck trying to make a profit from the rest, especially if the labels show any Actiplaque or are otherwise less than decent.
  • well i would agree with you mostly. However I recently bought a box of Atari 2600 stuff and I have made out pretty well on it. I Bought the Box because it had 4 excellent condition CIB's in it and one of them stuck out to me as possibly being Rare (Crypts Of Chaos). The Box had a light Sixer unit with about 15 Games with Manuals a game Binder and Various game catalogs I have sold most of the Manuals, 3 out of 4 CIB's and Have made $83 off of a $20 investment. Not too Bad. I also found a HERO cart in MINT condition for .50 at a thrift store and sold it for $15 and the Buyer was REALLY happy with it. So you can get lucky with Atari stuff every now and then.
  • I think I am going to pass on this lot. The seller said she got another offer and wanted to know if I could beat $75. I dont know who is offering so much but they are crazy.
  • That's lame that she got another offer. Do you collect Atari 2600 or were you just planning on flipping the lot?
  • Lol, she's probably just playing you to be honest image
  • I had some good luck with atari games

I have found games like crazy climber Rubiks Cube Deathtrap and so on

when you find a lot of 100 atari games there is usually one or two R7s.

I am a member of atariage. com also and you would be surprised the amount of valuable atari games that are found in the wild. My best find in 5 years was Out of Control it was in a lot with 3 pac man and 40 other common games. its always worth it to look...you never know.
