Game and Watch

hello all, i am new here (love it already community seems great image&nbspimage

I own a small independent game store that carries retro gaming, i recently purchased off of a customer an original game and watch donkey kong II (normaly i would use videogamepricecharts.com but nothing is on there (amazing site and i see jj is on this forum as well)

the box has some wear but overall it is in good shape ,it can still hold its form without anything in it (not bad for being 20 years old , it also has all the instructions, i have looked around at various places and one of my collector customers recommended this site to try to find out more info about it

i can try to get some pics up if it would help

thanks for the help, im sure ill be seeing you guys around

  • From what I understand, having the box with these old Game & Watch stuff is a big, big plus.

I'm not into the G&W stuff, though. I'm not really sure if anybody here is, but I'm sure there would be somebody who could give you an answer.
  • yeah i looked around and didnt see much info on it, and i really cant find much any where else, i figured if anyone would know it would be the people here
  • I do collect game and watches. It really depends on the condition of the box and the game and watch. Is the screen heavily scratched? Do you have the original package for the batteries? What grade is the box from 1-10? How is the sticker on the top of the game and watch? These all have a huge impact on the value.

If the game and watch was in average condition, and the box was a 6/10 or so, you are looking at probably $80. If the box is in amazing condition, it can fetch upwards of $100-$135ish. Even though you have a retro store, it will be hard to sell this item due to the limited number of people who collect them. To get that price out of it, you will more than likely have to put it on ebay.

Also, I see you use www.videogamepricecharts.com. You may want to reconsider not 100% using that site for customer trades / sales, due to the fact that the data is tainted. The prices they give do not accurately give a price for a old school games. Why? It tracks the number of game titles in ebay, and does not seperate those that are cart only, and complete with box / instructions. Therefore, the box copies would drive the net price up. I would be very cautious...
  • yeah i dont expect it to sell its just the kind of thing to have in the store as a show piece conversation starter, i never thought about the prices being skewed like that due to condition, any suggestions on a better way for me to do my prices, its to hard to go back and change it now as its all inventoried but as new product comes in i can use a different system thanks image

the game and watch is in mint shape.. everything still is shiny, screen is in fantastic shape id give box a 6/10

    thanks for the info image
