how hard is it to switch snes carts?

I bought Earthbound off of ebay for 45.00.  Only thing wrong with it is, that in the top corner of the cart is bite marks.  I don't know what kind just bite marks lol.   I have an xtra game that I don't want and I'm going to order a earthbound label to put on it once I scrape the old one off.  But how hard is it to change snes carts?  Is there anything that I could damage when I'm switching them out?  I hope I explained this well enough.

  • I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you are keeping the game forever. Someone may think it is fake down the road.

But switching SNES carts could be tricky depending on the board inside.
  • It's just as easy and taking apart NES carts. You need the right screw bit though. Keep the original earthbound label intact though please. I hope you're going to scrap off a NHL '95 and not the real earthbound o_o
  • Before you go through switching labels, make sure the board fits properly in your donor shell (and that it closes). I found out the hard way when switching my Maximum Carnage over to a Doom shell.
