  • $60 for that nes lot is a great deal. DO IT!
At the very LEAST those systems will get u $20 back, so $20 for that lot of games is very nice!
  • Definitely, you can sell the Mega man 1-4 for over 50 alone. The other games, I would ask about 40 or less, depending on what kind of a profit you want for them if you want to resell: DW 3, Kid Icarus, FF, and Wario's woods are all good resales, esp. Ogre battle. Definitely do it.
  • firt one = go get it!

second list = very easy to resell lot. Since he was asking 50 for the first set, I'd offer him like 80 for both. If he settles for around 100, go get it (I wouldn't pay more than 70 for the second lot to resell).
  • Awesome. Thanks for the feedback. He originally wanted $100 for the first lot, but I talked him down to 50. I feel like I could get all of it for 80. So that is what I will go for. Thanks again. =)
  • Oh yeah! Go get it. The mega mans are worth it.
  • Very good deal, a lot of games that are easy to re sell and package together. Make one NES + 3 mario games and another NES + 4 megaman games, you can get ~65 for the mario/nes package and over 70 for the megaman package.
  • Awesome. Thanks for the tip.
  • Dax, Just call steve and I LOL
  • Oh yeah, I forgot about that lol. I sent ya a PM.
  • I don't know. I know I am new, however I think post like this is not what this forum was intended for, am I right? I kind of look at stuff like this as lazy. Check completed ebay listings, check video game price charts. If you don't start getting a per game value worth in your head it's not going to help you in future.

I kind of thought this was meant for stuff that doesn't regulary sell and/or it is really rare or something out of the ordinary. People keep posting is this good to buy. If you look it up you can answer your own question. Seriously let me know. I don't want to be putting my input in if it is wrong.
  • I thought it was here to help people that needed it. I am new to the site and still learning what is appropriate and what isn't. If I offended you by posting this I am sorry. But so far, this has been a huge help to me. And, I have never sold any games before, only collected. But now the games that I have to get cost a lot of money, so I am trying to find good deals so I can resale to make the money I need to purchase the more expensive carts. From what I have seen on ebay, games and system sales are very sporadic. Some days I see certain games being sold for $5. Then other days I see them going for $15. I came to this site for guidance, and to learn the market better as far as buying and resale.

For instance: I thought I found a good deal the other day after I did some research online, Ebay, Amazon, this site, etc... (you will see the post, was about a week ago or so). I was going to pay $175 for it, and it would have taken me about 3 or so hours to get there to buy them. I myself thought it was a good deal, but I guess I was looking at it as a collector not as a resale hehe. Once I asked on this site, after I did my research mind you, everyone told me not to do it, that it was a waste. Had I not posted that here and got that feedback, I would have gone and wasted time and money.

If this is not something that I should post, then let me know and I will stop. But to all of you guys that responded and gave me the answers that I needed, thank you very much. It is very much appreciated, and you guys rock. Once I learn more about what are good deals and are not, I will not bother posting them here. But until then, the only way that I can be for sure about something, in my mind, would be to ask people that have a lot of experience in it than I do.

  • No biggie. you're both kinda right. Those games can be easily looked up, but if you're unsure, it's ok to ask. I remember your last thread, and it was difenitely NOT worth buying, so asking was the right thing to do.
  • No you didn't offend me. I just remember that last thread as well. I was just seeing a trend as kind of using the site as your personell system for making values of games. I think it would be more benficial if you post what value you think each game is worth or a value for the lot as to ween you off the needs of us.

Granted majority of us can just look at list and go down the line adding up the value we would fetch if we resold the games. This will take a whole minute of our time, however it does not help you. Generally steals don't last long enough to ask if it's a good buy, that and asking if something is a good buy every week will clutter the forums.

I recommend this link for you some prices are a bit higher, some a bit lower. However they should even out. Just remember using ebay knock off 10-15 percent for fees. It is only cart only prices and a reflects good condition. Therefore boxes, manuals, condition affect pricing.

  • This thread can be closed. I am new to the site (17th of this month) so naturally I would start off with a few posts to get my feet wet, I personally don't see that being trendy. Before I ever posted anything, I reviewed some of the other posts in the "Price Check" forum. There were many that were very similar to mine (some have been members for a while now, not a noob like me), wanting to know if what they found was a good deal or not. And everything that I am trying to buy now I want to resale so I can buy the more expensive rare carts that I want to add to my collection. So I didn't even think twice before I posted them. If this was my 15th post in a row asking, then I would agree with you. But I was not in any way trying to use this as my personal system for making values of games. If anything, I was trying to use this to get a general idea of things and to make some friends that are like minded and attain some guidance that will benefit me in the months to come. I have spent hours and hours and hours searching the web and making price checks. Writing them down and comparing. Trying to pave my way with some knowledge needed to make what I am trying to do successful. But with some of the inconsistencies I have found, it led to me post here. But those are from people that I do not know. Granted I do not know you guys, but from what I have read on recent posts all over this site and from what the two people that introduced me to this site and told me about it, you guys know what you are talking about and I trust your words over all of the other sites out there.

The deals that I found I was surprised that they were still there after I spent many hours trying to figure out online if it was worth it or not. It was that consumption of time that led me to post here in the first place. I didn't want to lose it while I was trying to figure out if it was worth it or not. And from this post, I know now that Mega Man 1-4 and a NES combined will bring me $60+.

And I do use that pricing site, but it seems to me that some of those games are not worth what they are listed for, or worth more. But again, I do not know much about resale. Does that site combine CIB and cart only together? If so, then let's say 3 Mario 3's (cart only) and 3 Mario 3's (CIB) are sold. If those 2 different types (CIB - Cart only) of 6 games are pooled together from the 4 different web sites, wouldn't it make the carts only seem like they are worth more if the average that is made combined the CIB and cart only games? If they only list cart only prices then it would make sense to me. But I dunno how they pool that data together. Currently that site has Mario 3 at $6.99. Is that cart only or CIB, or both cart and CIB combined? Amazon and Half have it listed at $5.99, while eBay has it at $8.95 and JJ games has it at $10.73. It's inconsistencies like that, that also led me to post. I don't want to go on a guess as to what it might sale for. Some in the past sold for as little as a buck, while some sold for much more. I did not want to guess and pay 4 bucks for it, then try to resale it, and lose or break even. And a lot of it depends on the buyer as well, and the timing. So there is no way it can be an exact science as to the videogameprice charts website. It is an average of many different elements. I didn't want to commit to a purchase when I had doubt in my mind. It is a really nice thing to know that I had some people here that I knew I could trust beyond doubt, that would give me a thumbs up to buy or a thumbs down to buy. I could then use those games and those responses to better help me with my next deals. But I wasn't planning on posting on here like what I have been posting for the next 3 years. It was only to start me off in the right direction. But with Doc Robs guide, I should not have to post here any more. So I won't be a bother. =)

But I found something from DR. Robbie's post that I am going to buy, that nes cart only guide. So I do not want anyone to think that I am using the system or their experience in any way as a . I would rather hear it coming from someone from this site, than any other site out there.

  • No worries Dax, it's all relative on this site. And if your post is in the wrong spot a "higher power" will kindly let you know and it's simple to fix.
  • I look at that site as a quick reference. However that data is obtained, it reflects loose cart only prices. The prices are a pretty good average of what a correctly done BIN (buy it now) would fetch. This is how I look at it. I pretty much view any game listed there under $5 as common. That means in a lot of games figure it's worth at $2 or $1 if game is listed at like .75 or something crazy low.

Once over the $5 mark you can start value of games a bit higher. Once price goes up like a lot say Bonks adventure, these games need more looking as game prices vary so much month too month. There is not really a "set" price of what games are going for but more of a "tier" if you know what I mean.

Game prices fluctuate month too month they go up and down, so you are better off pricing them on the lower side. Something like Bonks. Value it at like $65 or so, on the low side. You may get $80 who knows. depends on who is looking at the time.

You don't have to lock the thread, I was mainly saying you should keep same thread, and just keep editing same post. I was also saying you should guess a value first because us telling you a 20 game lot of worth $60 does not mean every 20 game lot is worth $60.
  • I think your post is fine, Dax -- the ones where people list 50 games and ask what each one is worth are not fine, as those are "lazy" posts where the OP wants you to do the work for him/her. In time, you'll learn what lots like this are worth and will hopefully help other newer members with values.
