Nes blinking lights; Is the power connector faulty?

Hi. I recently bought a NTSC US NES console from ebay. Packed it out and it worked straight out of the box. However over time I needed to keep the console in a drawer and apply pressure with a controller or whatever object that would keep the power jack firmly inserted into the power connector.

However, it doesnt work now. I disassembled my NES and could not get the box with the audio, video and power plug open. I then read about that the 72 pin connector and dirty games may be causing the problem. I wonder if its maybe the power socket, the 72 pin or maybe both. Any advice would help  image

thank you!

  • It is most likely the 72 pin connector that is the problem. Some people repair them but I haven't had much luck with it so I just replace them.
