DELETE LOCK JUNK

Small favor, just wondering if anyone has an extra 6volt DC plug lying around they wouldn't mind sending my way for the cost of shipping or for a trade of a NES cart or so? More specifically a 6v 500mA with positive center polarity. I figure most people have a drawer of these stupid things lying around, I know I do, I just seem to have lost my 6V plug in my last move.
Heres a pic that shows how to see the polarity type:

EDIT: Anything OVER 500mA is also ok, just nothing under 500mA

  • Nice Hammer reference! What size does the other end need to be?

    Funky headhunter Baby!

The other end needs to be the same size that fits into the back of a nes toaster.
If you find one, me love you long time. I went to a few places around town and they all wanted $20, which is ridiculous. Im too poor, being unemployed sucks image

  • If yours is anything like mine, go to a good will. All my local ones have bins full of them, on certain days they are marked down to 10-30% off which bring them below $1 a piece.
  • I was thinking of checking out some second hand shops, perhaps I'll hit that up tonight after dinner.
  • Went to Goodwill, they had about a dozen or so plugs, but alas none of them were 6volt image
  • Who'da thunk one of these would so be hard to find? image

  • Stupid question, but do you need an actual NES power supply?
  • No, NES is 9volt, I need a 6v plug for a MIDI controller I have.
  • Ah. All I could find were some 12v ones and a 9v.
  • You might want to double post this in the "Buy Sell and Trade" forum. Maybe somebody will get you some luck there...
  • i have a 6V 450mA...dont know if it would be any good to you?...id be down for a trade for any common i dont have...send me a PM

    Damn, so close image

Anything over 500mA is ok, but anything under 500mA is bad for the device image

    Thanks for looking though <3
  • Best Buy sells 300mA and 500mA AC adapters with reversible polarity tips.

There's a switch on the back side of the plug that lets you switch between different voltages. I am pretty sure 6V is one.

BUT....let me look when I get home. I have a ton of electronic stuff (I use to work at BB image ) and may just have one laying around.
  • Thanks for looking. I can find a unit like that locally but I'm just trying to avoid paying $20 for a stupid plug
  • I looked through all of the bins at the local Goodwill yesterday but came up empty handed, sorry. Good luck!

Awesome. That sucks that they didnt have one, but I really appreciate you remembering and taking the time to scout for one.
  • I was super bored last night and started going through all kinds of boxes. I opened a box I thought contained only junk, and low-and-behold, a 6V plug was on top!!!!

Thanks to all who helped me in my quest, I had one in my damn closet packed away the whole time! I also found an extra $50 needle for my turntable I thought was lost so Im extra pumped too
