Final Fantasy 3 question

Hello guys,

I just got Final Fantasy 3 for SNES and I have couple of questions:

1. Can I delete saved games or just overwrite over the existing?

2. How to go to main menu when you are in game? I did try multiple combinations of buttons but no results.

Wow, thats odd for a game that was made by such great company as "Square".
