I am AWFUL at SM games and I usually get frustrated and turn it off. We just got a new Wii and I have to start over at 1-1. I'm proud I did make it ti 2-2 with 9 continues before I had to start over.
I will start this one back up as soon as I get through Galaxy.
I finished the game about a week ago I guess. I have also already snagged all the star coins as well. I think I am totally done with this one. On to Zelda!
I got the game a few days after it came out. Honestly, I think it was too easy.
Super Mario World or Mario Galaxy were much more challenging. This one, when you get up to level 4 or 5, you can tell you're going to easy get up to level 8.
Pros: Some innovative level design. The plant level (5) was really neat. Also, 8-7 (hidden world) with the dinosaur rollercoaster! And some of the castle levels had those long spikes, the spikes were the entire length of the level. And the suits. The helicopter suit was good addition. They could have added more innovative moves with the ice flower. The penguin suit was neat, although I dont think it had the utility of the frog suit in mario 3. Since you dont swim very much at deep levels with the penguin suit.
Music excellent. The star power music was awesome. Makes you want to go hunting for stars.
Level 9 sort of a disapointment.
Overall pretty solid game, 8, 8.5. Better than the worst mario bros games in the franchise. But not as good as the top (like mario galaxy).
-Also, the movies were cool. The infinite 1 ups on 2-6 I think it was. Where you freeze the pokey's with ice flowers, then they turn into individual blocks, then you simultaneously ground pound with another player. Moves like that were brilliant. The enemies and graphics can't complain.
This game is awesome. Me and my bro just started playing it, we got to the world 2 mini-castle and were messing around with eachother and whatnot, so much fun, amazing! Also, it is quite difficult so far, we used 3 continues on that mini-castle, and died a lot on the level with sand shooting up!
As my brother said "I haven't had this much fun since I first played Mario All-Stars/World on Super Nintendo" and I couldn't agree more. This is easily (thus far) my favorite Wii game.
