Question about Sega Master 3-D glasses.

I've recently gotten some Sega Master 3-D glasses, and when I plug them in they work... sort of?

They seem to flicker in both eyes of the glasses, but when I wear them they don't make the correct 3-D effect in the game. I can still clearly see everything split apart. I was using a Sega Master Power Base Adaptor on my Sega Genesis, and on a Flatscreen TV. Would any of these cause this problem? Are the glasses just not working correctly? I need to know so I can return them this upcoming weekend if they are faulty.

  • Are you using a CRT or a plasma/LCD? Some people call certain CRT's "flatscreens." It only works with the former. It plays with the refresh rate and your eyes.

The lenses are LCD like the simple kind found in a digital calculator. It just alternatively blanks your vision in one eye while displaying one POV, then on the refresh it alternates with the depth POV in the other.
  • Ok so I need to test this on a CRT-will do that right now I've got one around here somewhere. =)

Edit: Yup, worked on the CRT. Guess there's no way to get it to work on a plasma LCD then?
  • Nossir. It is, however, a nice accessory and worth a few bucks so good luck reselling if you're not keeping it.
  • This pair is definitely for myself. =)
