Just played with Zelda MM with menu. What the hell do I have to do in Zora Challenge? There is a big lake with a fish swimming and he has a treasure on his back. Zelda is wearing a weird mask.

About Excitebike. My copy says Excitebike 64 preview when the game starts. I don't know if Nintendo made another NFR game being the same as the released version.

I heard there are 2 different NFR Jet Force Gemini, one being a demo and the other is the full game. I'm not sure if it's true.

I also have a Super Smash Bros and a yellow DK64 without "not for resale" on the front label but has the property of nintendo sticker on the back.
  • Hm...........I also know of a gold Zelda OoT without the "not for resale" on the front, but still has a property of Nintendo sticker on the back. I tend to think that these were used for special events only, such as launch parties for a game. Personally I don't think these should be added to the list, do you?
  • You should made 2 lists, one with "not for resale" of the front label and another with only the property of Nintendo sticker on the back. The store name on my yellow DK64 is P.C. I'm not sure what store it is. I got it in a lot of N64 games where most were NFR carts. I bet it was a Nintendo employee selling his stuff because the store names on the property of Nintendo stickers are all different, i.e. they didn't all come from the same place. Also, the numbers on the UPC code on the Super Smash Bros and DK64 are not the same.
  • I think there's a list like this on DP... I'll check it out when I have time.

I can't remember if my ExciteBike demo says preview when the game starts, but mine's not the full game. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that you can't access the track editor.

I briefly had a gray NFR Donkey Kong 64, all it did was play the DK Rap over and over again image

I have at least one game (not N64) that has a Property of Nintendo sticker on the back, but doesn't say Not for Resale on the front. These were generally full versions of the game that were sent to stores to be used in kiosks, but since they were full versions and weren't for sale, had a Property of Nintendo sticker stuck to the back so the store would know it wasn't there's to sell.

Hard to say if they should be added to the list...it's not a label variant or different coding, and you never know what games Nintendo decided to send out to be used in a kiosk that were no different from the resale versions.

What UPC code are you talking about that's different? Do you mean the code on the UPC "property of nintendo" sticker on the back? The reason I ask is what are you comparing it to? Obviously the regular release wont have this sticker on it at all.
  • Ok, I am about 90% sure that there are 26 or 27 of these that exist, depending on if Mario Golf exists or not.

Zelda OoT (gold), Mario Party, and Donkey Kong 64 (yellow) have Final Retail Labels. In other words, the label on the front is exactly the same as the retail release, but there is enough evidence out there that it's known that these were sent out before their release by Nintendo to be used in kiosks. The only way to identify them is by the "property of Nintendo" sticker on the back.
