Best place to get Gamebits (3.8 and 4.5) ?

In the process of getting a gamebit set to start detail cleaning my games. I've been reading stories on how these strip out very easily. Any recommended place(s) to get really goo quality ones from? Thanks image

  • if you pick one up from ebay you can harden it with a torch
  • i always go to electric quarter. http://electricquarter.com/ they also have an ebay store. they are a good quality.
  • I got a cheap one, but I think the secret is to put the game on a solid flat surface and use a nutdriver. When I noticed my bit was going to strip because it's made of cheap slag, I started using it this way, and the one I bought three years ago is still perfectly servicable. A good sturdy nutdriver with a lot of mass behind it and making sure you drive it perpendicular to the level cartridge = works just fine, everytime.

Plus those tight ones can just plain be rough on the fingers without a nutdriver. Huh-huh.
  • If you have a worn out NES bit, here's a neat trick that you can use and not have to throw it away.

I use it on 5 screw carts. Although the bit is just slightly stripped to the point that it doesn't have the best grip on security screws, it holds the flat head screws quite nicely. I just use a Black and Decker electric screw driver, rips those things out in seconds. Sometimes this is easier than finding a little tiny flat head bit.
