So pissed...

I just recieved this in the mail today, and guess how it was shipped, even after I asked the seller to ship in a box. You guessed it! In a F***ING BUBBLE MAILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate stupid ass sellers!

  • Was it damaged at all in the mail? Man that sucks balls, if it wasn't damaged I would count me blessing, that was a cheap score anyways but it is principal. n00bs!!

    ~~NGD
  • Tell the seller you're going to file a SNAD report unless they refund you $100 image
  • I would definately be looking for a partial refund if there is any damage

Agreed. With a high money item like this, what a dumb fuck to ship it in a mailer. Tell him you're super pissed (which you are) and demand a partial refund
  • the bottom of the box looks a bit shabby and no manual... i would say that was just a descent score... anyway i hope it wasnt damaged during shipping or i would deffinatly ask for no demand a refund..lol
  • When I bought my Bubble Bobble 2 box it was sent in a bubble mailer too. Luckily it arrived in great shape. I couldn't beleive it either.
  • damn that sucks, hope the box wasn't too bad.
  • that's hilarious considering they charged you $10 to ship it too. what an ass
  • Yes, the box got crushed. There wasn't even a styrofoam block in it, so of course the box got crushed. I just can't believe the seller was so stupid! I even sent him TWO messages asking him to mail in a box!
  • Maybe we should start a list of ebayers who:

    Either send games in boxes
Or we gotten crushed games from.

Also, If your not already, state in feedback when games are shipped in a box.

Maybe we can use a code when their shipped in a envelope.

PE: Padded evelope or CB: crushed box.

Using a code, were less likely to get negs for speaking the truth.

  • im so sorry burdger
  • I feel your pain burdger, i recently had 2 or 3 packages shipped in their actual boxes.  I collect CIB accessories, and the sellers actually just put shipping labels on the boxes and mailed 'em!  People can be so stupid.  When I questioned them about it, their response was, I didn't know you wanted the box, I just thought you wanted to use what was in the box.  image
  • I think you can ship a box in a mailer- but you have to do it correctly. Wrap it in bubble wrap and make sure it has a styro block in it and you are fine.

I would try to return the bubble bobble 2 set for a full refund. Probably not really worth keeping it in bad shape, in my opinion. Really depends how bad it is.
  • I have heard alot of complaints on other forums about a RareGamerGirl shipping fucked boxes in bubble mailers.

Just use a fucking box! Why do people love the fucking bubble mailers so much? JUST USE A FUCKING BOX!
  • If the box isn't ripped, you could always iron it. I know, that sounds crazy, but if you take a canvas sheet, put it over the box, and iron the canvas, you can restore a box to looking pretty decent. After you iron it, keep the canvas on the box, then put a very heavy object (ie, books) on top to press it, overnight.
  • That will take out creases Dain?

Oh, and Sara, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that point. Even if they are bubble wrapped well, the sides can become smooshed. I don't understand why people just don't use the free Priority boxes, especially since this guy shipped priority!
  • Aw, man that sucks. You'd think since you payed $200 for the game that the seller would get the hint that you want it in good condition. Bubble mailers should be for loose carts only. I personally have recieved several CIB games in bubble mailers, luckly they arrived unharmed.
  • Well, unfortunately, there is nothing you can do if you didn't opt for insurance. Technically, those bubble mailers are pretty damn safe and I've used them for a number of this. I myself would have boxed it up, but if you didn't ask for insurance and he sent it like that you can't necessarily blame him, it likely got pounded around during shipment and without the extra insurance tagged on it there's nothing you can do. It sucks, but that's how it works. All you can really do is ask them and see if they're nice about it, otherwise negative and hope they don't do the same if they haven't left feedback yet.

Dain,if you have time, could you make a ``how to`` video about this or if not maybe take before and after pictures of a box you fixed.

I have a few boxes that I would love to restore and I`m sure a lot of members would like to see how you do it.

  • My problem is people who ship like shit. They over-charge you on shipping, then they skimp on the packaging. This is simply uncalled for. There is no reason to not appropriately ship an item. If you pay upwards of $200 for a game, and alot of the value is for the box alone, you would expect the seller would have the common decency to at least do their part to ensure the package arrives intact. Is it really that much more of an inconvenience to put the item inside of a box, rather than a bubble mailer???? Could you take a few more seconds out of your "busy" schedule to do your part to make sure you please your customers? What if you ordered a box of light bulbs from www.Walmart.com and Walmart decides to ship the light bulbs in a bubble mailer? Would you be mad if they all arrived smashed? Oh, Walmart did take the time to "Wrapped it in bubble wrap and made sure it had a styro block in it."

    Still Smashed...
    Still mad?

    That's part of it.
  • What the heck are you talking about? The ONLY time anyone has ever complained about a box getting damaged was a GBA box once that was a VERY low dollar item and it was packaged well and was damaged. I do not sell NES or other boxed items really at all on ebay (unless they are valuable, and those of course get sent in a box).

Your screen name is quite accurate and you are basing it on nothing. If you are going to ship priority, you of course use a flat rate box (or a box period). If it is a low dollar item? Yes, you can package it with the big bubble bubble-wrap and tape it up and put it inside a mailer and it is perfectly fine. I have had plenty of packages sent to me like that and never had any issues. I do not sell boxed items much at all on ebay any more (never really did) so you might want to check again on that.

Boxes are not plentiful and not cheap. If you buy a boxed NES game on ebay, most sellers are going to use a mailer.

Now, if an item is condition sensitive and valuable because of that- of course you use a box. If not (like this), that is just dumb of the seller. I sell expensive SNES games all the time and you always ship in a box. This bubble bobble 2 should have gone in a box. If it was a $10 dollar item, though? A mailer should suffice.

    Here is an Interesting Link

On a certain forum, there is a 4 page topic dedicated entirely to you, and your ebay practices.

Someone with feedback like yours should NOT be giving Ebay advice.
  • Toolhaus is now dedicated to me? That is so fascinating. (edit: you edited your post). I am not going to bicker with you about shipping practices. I do quite well on ebay and amazon and that is all that matters. Check any of my other accounts for 99.5+ positive feedback percentages.

Any big time seller is going to have negative and neutral feedback- but also 14,000 positive feedback (579 pages to be exact). How can you tell that feedback is a box at all? I have no clue what that is as I can't link to it. If I could, I can gladly tell you what it is over.

    Ummm....What?
I have a hard time believing all of those negative feedbacks are people who are out to get you.
All I know is, you should NOT BE GIVING ANYONE ADVICE, EVER EVER EVER!!!!!

    Thank you.

  • Yes, a thread about me. How many people there said they had a negative experience? ONE PERSON! Toylasso! THAT IS IT! Even then, they claim they left me the first negative feedback, which I could not even confirm if they left me negative feedback or not. No reason for them to lie, though. I checked and the first negative feedback was over an item that was sent out and bounced back. It was sent close to Christmas several years ago (2004 I believe?) and was undeliverable and returned to me- and they were refunded. More people said they had a POSITIVE experience with me there than negative!

It was just a thread about negative feedback- and the person posted it had never even had a transaction with me!

I am one of the largest sellers on ebay and amazon of obscure/ rare PS2/XBOX/GC games in the world. This is a fact. If not number 1, top 3 without a doubt.
