For shipping purposes I've never gotten the weight of a parcel under 5 oz. I've used prefab bubble mailers, made my own from kraft-paper envelopes and foam padding...always at least 4.1oz Gotta round up.
I thought I'd post this so everyone could see it as well (I sent it to Jared through PM):
The formula I use is this:
(((ounces x carts) / 1 lb) + packaging) = total weight, or:
(((4 x 123) / 16) + 3) = 33.75 lbs.
This is usually a few pounds over, since most games weight 3.5-3.75 ounces. So in your case, it realistically weights between 27 - 30 lbs before packaging. This accounts for the random weights of some carts over 4 ounces. 100 carts, on average, weigh 20-22 lbs.
With some slight variance (mainly on the high side, mainly where RPGs like Dragon Warrior 3 and 4 are concerned), most licensed NES carts weigh in at 100-108 grams each. Unlicensed carts are generally a few grams heavier...Action 52 weighs in at a hefty 140 grams, and the heaviest NES cart I own (a Supervision 110 Games New cartridge) weighs in at 160 grams.
