Hey, I got my family in on it also

Well I guess I am lucky that I am not the only collector in my family. Both of my parents are antique collectors, and they are pretty much the ones that got me started in collecting video games 11 years ago. Like all collectors, we know what to look for, and ever since I started collecting I have tried to tell my parents what to look for out in the wild. So far, my parents how found small things here and there, but nothing that big.

However, I got a call from my mother last week saying she had found something that I have been looking for at one of the local desert industries. It was a sharp 19'' nes TV set. She said that she picked it up for $25. It did not have the controllers and one of the legs was broken, but i did not care. I was just amazed, that if not for my mom I would not have it.  I am so thankful for my mom. I am just wondering if there are other collectors that have family members or friends looking out from items as well.  I cant wait to start playing games on my new tv image

  • Yeah, my mom finds tons of my stuff. She doesn't know games as in if she sees Earthbound, she knows its $100...but she knows I usually sell a SNES for 40 and usually they come with games and don't cost near that much. Her best find wasn't even video game related...she snagged me an unreal amount of legos for $200 and I flipped everything for 2k. Thanks mom!
  • yah it works. I am just wondering if I should buy the controllers?
  • That is a hell of a deal for the T.V.

Are the front doors still in tact? If so, I would say you have a decent set, and it would be worth getting a remote or two...
  • my family has no idea that i am collecting these games, they would probably think it was a waste of time :/ I just started collecting so eventually they will find out...i will probably just tell them its an investment, that'll keep them happy
  • a family member is the sole reason I was able to buy 550 sealed games.
