It's not that, you definitely have some great resell grabs.  It's just that most people don't take note of them unless there's some real "eye candy" in them like a $50+ loose cart or MINTY CIBs or something like that.  I get resell lots that percentage wise match many of yours, but I do low volume ($100 lots or less usually).

I usually never post my resale lots because A) Some people will lowball you when they know what you paid and B) Finds that I "keep" are much more rewarding.

That Mario 2 sign you found has provided more excitement than any of the loose cart resell stuff, and I'm sure other members think the same.

I know man - I'm not hurt image I've actually done some business by posting up my resell lots here which is neat. You have to admit the Osborne PC is awesome. I don't care if its not Nintendo related.

I think there were a couple of rare carts in that NES pick-up too ^ ^
  • Got some stuff today...first I went to go pick up a "Random huge box of Playstation stuff" for $25, it ended up having a broken fat PS2, an Intec brand 5" LCD screen attachment for the PS2, 5 sony brand dual shock controllers, FIVE huge stupid DDR pads, 2 guitar hero/rockband guitars, rockband drums (which were broken, so I threw them out), 3 sets of A/V and power cables for PS1/2 systems, ~10 PS2 games and ~15 PS1 games (most pretty scratched up). Definitely worth the $25 after I sort the junk out though.

Then I picked up a nice looking NES with 2 controllers, zapper, and 10 games for $39. Games were MTPO, Turtles II, Mario 1, 2, 3, Metroid, RC-Pro AM, Wrecking Crew, Hogan's Alley, and Zelda 1. Not a bad resale lot!

Then I picked up some totally random stuff from a friendly guy who asked me to smoke pot with him before I bought the items (I respectfully declined). I picked up a minty NES Player's Guide with stickers intact, some random PC games, a couple of handheld games, and a working Atari Flashback 2 (complete). All for free.

I also picked up this beauty from him, ended up paying $50 for it. It is in pretty excellent condition. You guys tell me if I paid too much, I don't know too much about these:

  • O.K.! Some nice finds for yesterday and today. First, yesterday I found a 60gb XBox 360 with 8 new-ish games and some accessories for $200. Then I picked up an 80gb backwards compatible PS3 with 8 games for another $200.

Nobody cares about that stuff though. Today I hit the pawn shop and here are my nice finds from that stop. Everything in the pic for $41. All SNES games including Super Mario RPG were 5 bucks each!!

The books and pile of manuals were free, and so was the original XBox (they said it had a disc read error so I could have it for nothing - I cleaned it out with compressed air and it seems to work fine).

  • that ps3 for sale image

    Jeremy

  • Hey Jeremy, I was actually just messing around with the PS3 trying to play Metal Gear Solid 4 (which I have never played and heard great things about) and even though the system powers up and goes to the operating system with no problems, it does not seem to be reading discs image

I am going to take it apart in a few minutes and blow it out, it is a little warm so I think it has a dust problem...I don't want to sell it until I have it in perfect condition.

  • ^^^^If games don't work, try a regular DVD.
  • I will try this, Dave. Thanks!!
  • Yesterday: Picked up an N64 with 7 decent games, a really dirty NES with around 30 good games with manuals (nothing rare). Then picked up 3 Super Nintendos, 3 N64s, 3 additional NES systems, and around 10 games for each system. Also picked up a minty Legend of Zelda: Collector's Ed. and Smash Bros. Melee for GameCube, which was pretty cool.

Tonight I am heading out to look at this lot:

    http://syracuse.craigslist.org/vgm/1644345243.html

It really looks like I can't go wrong for the price! What do you guys think?

  • ^ ^ purchased the above lot. It ended up being better than expected. LOTS of good money N64, NES, Super Nintendo titles, not very many rare items but quite a lot of manuals/other paper stuff and some rare and unknown accessories. Really too much stuff to list but I might be posting some of the highlights here soon.
  • Listing is gone, but I'm curious to see what you got!
  • Well, it was a huge lot, basically it included:

    7 Super Nintendos
    7 NES systems
    6 Nintendo 64s (included a jungle green)
    9 Playstation 1s
    5 Atari 2600s
    1 Playstation 2
    2 Sega Dreamcasts
    3 Sega Saturns
    4 Sega Genesis systems
    1 original Game Boy
    2 yellow Game Boy Colors
~80 NES games, 50 N64 games, 60 SNES games, 20 Playstation 1 games (including 8 long box games), 20 Atari games, ~10 Game Boy games, 20 Genesis games, 10 Saturn games, 10 Dreamcast games

    LOTS of manuals, paper, etc

A HUGE box full of controllers, and a huge box full of cords

Various neat accessories like 4 scores for NES, NES satellites, advantage controllers, and a lot of curious oddities I've never seen before

I will post some highlights as I get through all of the stuff...I am thinking about moving my operations from my house to a warehouse/office type place because I have waaaaaaaay too much stuff right now...
  • i got to hear some of this lot today, i think everyone will like his find!
  • Nice finds mate! Keep up the good job, nice to see photos image Unfortunately here in Italy there is no craigslist or similar and on the only serious announce site we have the prices people are asking looks like they're stealing!
  • Bought hundreds of games and a dozen game systems over the past couple of weeks, all great deals but nothing particularly valuable, and then I experienced the find of the month. Picked up a nice looking Earthbound cart for $2 at a thrift store in Syracuse. Made my day!!
  • A trashy looking Earthbound cart for $2 would probably make my month.

I am psyched. This is only the second time in 3 years that I have found this game in the wild. The funny thing is that I am in the process of playing through the game on an emulator!
  • I bought a lot of Nintendo 64 stuff today. 3 systems and ~30 games. Nothing rare or particularly interesting in the N64 stuff, but I only spent  $80 so it was a great buy.

Then I hit the jackpot. I had phoned a Craigslister about a "DS with some games" for $100 and was told that it was a DS with about a dozen games, and that they did not have the list available at the moment. I committed to buy it anyway, thinking I would at least make my money back even if they were all really crappy GBA games. This is what I ended up walking away with for $100. This is one of those times where you try to hold back your excitement for a find.

I asked if he had any other old game-related stuff and got the Pokemon GBA case and Silent Hill (PS1) for free!

Then I picked up this nifty lot for $10:
    image

I also found a nice atomic purple N64 controller and a handful of N64 wrestling games at a thrift store for about $2 per item, which was nice.

In all it was an awesome day! I am almost fully moved into my eBay depot office/warehouse thing. Pics (and possibly video) of all of that coming soon.

  • Nice haul! PM me if those Heroquest games have all the pieces. I used to play that one as a kid, and I'd like to bust it out with my new gaming group. I can trade some games or maybe shoot you a little scratch for them!
  • Just picked up a very nice lot for $40 from a yard sale. Here is what was included:

The SNES box is a 9/10, it's really nice. The CIB All-Stars is in really nice condition too. The CIB mini SNES is for sale if anyone is interested!
  • Nice finds dude, I always like see what people manage to find. Is any of this stuff gonna be for sale, or do you plan on just keeping it?

Everything I have is for sale - I'm not really a collector, I just buy and sell games. I have a huge inventory right now if you are looking for anything in particular.
  • Unfortunately I don't have time for pics, but I'll sum up my garage sale haul for this weekend. I set out at 8am yesterday and did a 3-city circuit in about 5 hours. I decided this weekend to hit suburbs (full of well-off young families) instead of country roads. I probably went to over 20 sales and didn't find a single NES or SNES item, but here is what I came up with:

$25 - Sega Dreamcast w/2 controllers, 2 VMU memory cards, cords, and the following complete games:
San Francisco Rush 2049, Donald Duck Goin' Quackers, Atari Anniversary Edition, Crazy Taxi, Sonic Shuffle, and the web browser

$20 - Nintendo 64 w/memory expansion, 2 controllers, and games: Donkey Kong, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Super Mario, San Francisco Rush 2049, NFL Blitz, Madden 64, World Cup 98, StarFox 64, Castlevania

$5 - CIB Genesis Games: Cadash, Atomic Runner, Shinobi III

$5 - This was the find of the day! 21 complete, minty PS1 games in a neat looking silver carrying case for the PSOne mini system. No RPGs, but two Spyro games and 3 Crash games, lots of $5-$10 titles!

$10 - 5 PSP games: NFL Street 2 Unleashed, Call of Duty 3, Lego Star Wars II, SOCOM, Wipeout Pure

$2 - Army Men: Soldiers of Misfortune (DS) - this one was painful because they told me when I bought it that they had sold a dozen other DS games for $2 each before I picked up their last one image

$5 - another awesome find, I was at a sale that looked pretty lame but I noticed a couple of older teenagers who lived there so I asked if they had any games - they said the only ones they had left were 2 Star Wars games for XBox. I gladly agreed to pay $5 for both and got Knights of the Old Republic 1 + 2, mint and complete!

$5 - 7 NES controllers, all in really great shape

$3 - Set of 3 complete GameCube games, Metroid Prime, Super Monkey Ball Adventure, and Luigi's Mansion

FREE - Little bag of Nintendo 64 accessories: rumble pak, jumper pak, memory card, and RF adapter

I spent $80 on stuff and probably $20 in gas and $2 on coffee (lol), and I think I will get a little over $300 selling everything from yesterday. I also passed out a dozen business cards. In all, a great day! One of the things I was really happy with about my exploits yesterday was the fact that I was able to negotiate a lower price with practically every purchase I made (even though I was only able to knock a couple of dollars off of most items). I think I probably shaved off at least $30 by haggling.
  • Yesterday I did a pawn shop circuit and it turned out pretty well. First I found one of those Yobo FC3 plus systems that play NES/SNES/Genesis, along with all the carts in this pic for $25.

    image

Then I hit a pawn shop that usually has NES carts for $2 regardless of title, I ended up buying a bundle of stuff - the prices as marked added up to $70 for the whole lot, but they always give me a discount because I buy so much stuff from them.

8 NES carts with sleeves (Castlevania, Gauntlet grey cart, Ghosts n Goblins, MTPO, 1942, Burgertime, Life Force, Metroid) - $12 total
    2 N64 carts (MRC racing, wave race) - $2
    N64 expansion pak - $2
Pokemon Fire Red, Sapphire, and Leafgreen - $20 total
Yoshi's Island GBA, Mega Man Zero GBA - $2 each
2 NES controllers (have been repaired with a kit?) - $2
    Star Wars Battlefront I and II (PS2) - $5
    Silent Hill 2 (PS2) - $3

    $50 total!
