Sitting in the middle of Iowa what else is there to do?

Hello all, I've been over at ASSEMblers forums and Atari Age for a while and figured I'd make my way over here.

Just a little bit about myself, I'm 20 years old and currently a history major at Iowa State University and have been seriously collecting video games for a little over a year now. Still don't have insane amounts of games (recently just passed the 600 mark), but for being a poor college student I enjoy what I have. Really I have four favorite areas when it comes to my collection, NES, Atari, Coleco, and Mega Man.

For the NES I beleive I have roughly around 120-130 games, about 35 ColecoVision games, about 160 Atari 2600 games, and 73 Mega Man games (3 are Rockman imports).

Anyways hope to hear there are some fellow Iowans on here since they seem to be very few. Hopefully I'll get some pics up in the collection forum once I do some arranging. One thing I love doing is making sure things are displayed nicely.

You would think that, but I still have a lot of PC games to find. Currently I only have Mega Man X5 and Mega Man for DOS. Since there are six variants of Mega Man DOS and Mega Man 3 DOS my PC games left to find is at 16 still. I have all the currently released handheld games (would love to find boxes for the game boy games though), and the only console games I have left are MM8 and MMX4 on the Saturn. For a while I was buying games for the collection left and right, but I've slowed down recently mainly because it'll be a success, but also kind of sad to complete this collection. I'll probably have to move on to NTSC-J and PAL releases after this.

As for a picture I snapped a quick photo with my phone so the quality isn't great, but it gets the point across I think. Out of this section my favorite additions are probably my sealed Mega Man 9 Press Kit, CIB Mega Man for Game Gear (kind of in the dark on right side of middle shelf), Mega Man Legends 2, and the Mega Man Legends Japanese Capcom Friendly Club Demo I should receive in the mail this week.

  • Welcome, im new too, from little old New Zealand. this place is great, you will fit right in!
  • Nice Mega Man collection. If you really want to take it to the next level, you should try to get the PAL versions on NES. They have some really cool and different box graphics than the NTSC ones.
  • welcome to the site buddy. I'm actually not too far away from you - I'm in Kirksville, MO, so about 30 minutes from the border of Iowa at least.
