Just picked up a DK Jr arcade machine for $100

DK has some gameplay issues.  You cannot grab a vine to the left.  The left control seems to work, seems to be an issue with the game itself.  He also seems to grab invisible vines.  I made a post over at http://arcadeforum.com about this too, but not really sure what a good arcade forum is.

Anyone know what the issue could be, ROM, Board, etc??

No kidding.  It sounds like worst-case, he can replace the game board for $50-$100, and still have a good deal on a popular machine.
  • He said it was 100 or best offer. I probably could have talked him down, but he got laid off and was selling because he was moving. I just gave him what he was asking.  Wasn't really sure what I was getting into, never had an arcade machine before.
  • i wish i could get a deal like that. i want a dk machine bad.
  • yea man, great deal, and just think you prob coulda got it for like 70 if u tried
  • I couldn't see the videos friend, but if you're picking up a machine, especially a highly collectible one on the cheap, chances are it has some issues. Since I couldn't watch the video I'll just throw some thoughts out. If it doesn't turn on it could be the power supply, if it does but nothing comes up it's an expensive monitor replacement, but hopefully like what has been suggested it's nothing more than a pcb issue. So, I have two simple suggestions for you good sir. 1.) Buy another pcb and see if that fixes the issue. 2.) If that doesn't work try looking up amusements in the yellow pages and calling some up the route runners. Chances are you can either hire them to come out and take a look at it, bring photos to their address and ask questions (this can also be a good way to meet employees that work on the side or get an up into some other work are things you might need).
