Zelda Wind Waker/Ocarina Of Time/Master Quest

I found it at a local GameStop, and as far as I know, it's somewhat tough to come by, so I coughed up the $40 for it. Unfortunately, not a steal, but I find it worth it as an additional piece to my main collection. =]

  • as long as you think its worth it, its a good find. plus its a great game.
  • Nice pickup, man...that's one of the hardest-to-find titles on the GC. I've been looking for one for a while...I'd quite gladly fork over the $40 for it.
  • I'd pay $40 if it was the dual set in the same case image
  • How was this game originally released? I've never seen this game back when WW was released. I got the OoT/MQ for preordering WW, but I've never known about the combo release.
  • ^ 'Twas a pack-in for only about a month or two's time late in the GC's lifespan (at the time, the system retailed for $99).
  • I got this the day it came out and to this day I have never played the Master Quest.
  • Yeah that's not a bad price at all. I'll probably make it to Gamecube collecting sometime next year but I have noticed that this one doesn't pop up a whole lot. Nice scoop!
  • because i am dumb, what is this game? i don't seem to recall it. can anyone fill me in on the story?

It's the regular Windwaker game for Gamecube with an added Disc with Ocarina of Time on it. The extra disc also includes a so called "Master Quest" with "different" Dungeons (meaning that the chests and stuff were placed differently than in the original).

I'm pretty sure it also includes the original NES versions of Zelda 1 and 2.

I don't know about the NTSC version, but my PAL version only includes OOT/Master Quest.

But what you could also mean is following:

  • Yeah, the NTSC version only includes Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, and Master Quest...

Arch, I believe you might have it confused with the Collector's Edition, as DMG mentioned.
  • OH! I have that already. I guess i called it something different. Thanks.
  • So GC guys, do you think this is rarer than the Metroid / Zelda combo game? Cause I'm a happy owner of that one and you're lucky to see it on eBay a handful of times a year (at least I think so, but I don't follow it everyday either).

    Yup, sounds like it.
  • I don't think so...I've encountered the Windwaker/OoT/MQ package at least 2 times over the past year or so, and I've never even seen the Metroid/Zelda.
  • ^Yeah, I've never even heard of it up until now. :/
  • I have one of these at my GS. $19.99 but it's marked as Wind Waker so I don't know if they'd give me the Ocarina of Time/Master Quest disc image
  • I've also been tempted to pick it up
  • Wait if this was the title that was a pack-in, that is a great price. I got that system with that pack-in for a birthday and I sold it right away to gamestop for a couple bucks trade in value because I didnt have interest in it. I didnt collect then. I shouldnt have sold that ha.

This was the last one on eBay, and the one before that was about 5 months prior.

I watched the auction simply to see what my copy was worth as it started at 0.99.

I got mine for a $5 BIN sometime last spring image

So the game discs are the same as the regular releases, but they have a unique insert/cover art?

I dunno, I guess so?  Zelda / Metroid is literally the only Gamecube game I own and I wouldn't even know how it compares to the originals.  I'll have to see if I can find my copy tonight and see if it matches this one.

  • If its anything like the windwaker / masterquest discs, the games do not differ. The manuals are the same (Its not a double pack in manual like the cover, there are 2 seperate manuals, and the front cover art is the only thing unique.)

I doubt either of these will command tons of money in the future, because some scumbag will start repo'ing the case arts and sticking them in double cases if that ever happens.

So basically you are saying nothing could command any value on the Gamecube because your argument could be applied to any game.  Same would go with PS2 and later...

Yes and No image To me, it only applies to the case art. And why I stay away from paying high prices for CD based games that are reflected just via case art. Discs and Manuals would be too costly and hard to reproduce 1:1. A glossy sheet of paper? Not so much.

  • When this set first came out my uncle who is like this totally backwoods hunter guy redneck etc. Bought a gamecube because he wanted to play a shooter game (plus GC was like the cheapest console at the time lol). So he actually bought this without knowing anything about this game in it just because it was all he could find at the time. And he bought his shooting game he wanted but had this "strange zelda game" he said lol. Anyways i was at his house one time and He told me i could just have it because he hates games with alot of reading in them LOL. hehe sweet score for me. Ive had it ever since it came out now in mint uncirculated shape for free. woo!
  • HAHA that's an awesome story Parpunk
