Just out of curiosity...

...does anyone know of a site that has scans of old magazines?  I'm trying to research some stuff for NA, and I get references to pages of various magazines, but I have no idea where to look to see the source text.  If anyone can help, thanks.

Pretty sure I put this in the right place...figured it was the most relevant place, but if someone disagrees, well, not much I can do to stop the move image

  • Just to humor you image. This is actually more of a cry for help, though...

I think I have a site for Nintendo-related magazines, I'll try to dig that up. Or are you looking for non-VG related old magazines in general?
  • More video game mags...I'm trying to do some writeups for some of the listings in the database, primarily unreleased games, and some have VERY little to go on. A general site might be of help too, dig up old ads and such, maybe even a few blurbs in old computer mags or something, but I think my best bet would be from old gaming mags.

*EDIT* And I refer myself to my avatar for not noticing the "Help Wanted" forum...DOH! image

  • Yup, that's pretty much it. Wish I didn't have to download them though (not my comp, but I got rewritable CDs so I suppose I'll live), but that'll do image Thanks Bro image

There is a guy in Australia who sells a CD with every issue of Nintendo Power for about $12. I got them off him. Saved me downloading them all because the files are huge.
  • Sweetness! Always helps to have access to European mags as well image Although I'd never pay someone for stolen data when I can just steal it myself image
  • Yeah I agree with what your saying. Altogether they were a bit over 5GB & I could not be bothered spending the time downloading all of them which also would have taken up just under half of my monthly limit. So I thought $14 is ok.

I have about 20GB of retro gaming mags, shame I can't send them to you on one disc or I would.
  • That's why you get a torrent of it and download it bit by bit. The torrent itself is tiny. I'd do that myself except, well, like I said, it's not my computer image
  • Well, upon further investigation, Bro's site has some value to me, but the other one doesn't really. Problem I'm having is that I am not on my own computer, so I can't install Comic Book Viewer...well, I can, but I don't want to install shit on a computer that isn't mine. The first site has .pdf files on some mags, so I can find a few issues here or there, but not everything. If only she had a torrent client installed on this computer...or I had some way to use my hard drive from my old lappy on this one so I could install it to my own drive image Ah well, there's probably something else out there image
