  • They're running out of people to sell consoles to.
  • Well, if they keep green lighting games like Ninjabread Man, then it'll probably happen.
  • Yeah I saw this today too. Wii is going downhill. 75% of there 3rd party games suck hard

Ninjabread Man was made years ago. But I agree, worst game (with the best box art) ever.

At least 90% of the games on the Wii suck hard.
  • They could stop selling consoles tomorrow and probably last for more than a decade, comfortably, solely on the cash reserves they've accumulated over the last few years.

No doubt. I can't bring myself to buy any Wii games really, other than the obvious winners, they are just so freaking shitty. Some of the games I see my nephew play on Wii just make me want to barf.

This and I don't really buy the EA complaints. Their games have sucked lately. sure they have some more graphically advanced stuf they can put on other systems(Dantae's Inferno), but really EA sales have slipped cause they aren't making anything worth buying. ubisoft same thing, etc. Capcom I'd give a little credence, but although they make some cool new titles, they haven't made a monster title in years either.
  • Nintendo has plenty of games this year and they can always release new colors and a price drop if they need to. They're still going to handily outsell the competition. It's always doom and gloom for Nintendo....
  • Nintendo makes great games but there 3rd party support sucks, which is why I dont own a Wii, because the majority of the games are crappy gimmicky games. If there were more 3rd arty games at nintendo's quality, I would definitly buy one.
  • yea i use my wii as a paperweight mostly...besides wii sports and metroid theres not really any killer games worth buying...i think that whole motion sensor thing is just a fad thats dying...
  • Maybe everyone already has one? image
  • Our just sits there for looks.. occasionally we bust out some new super mario, but thats the only good game I think Ive ever played on it. Although I only own 2.. mario and wii fit for the lady haha

I totally agree. The sensor bar was a huge fad. It's a unique idea but I think they also should have beefed up the hardware so that it isn't the only thing going for it. If it had higher spec'd hardware then it wouldn't have to rely on ONLY using the sensor bar for ideas--it could have just created some good ol' regular games using the GC controller. By using the sensor bar as its only strong point, it almost makes the Wii a "party" machine. Something you pull out when you have guests over to play bowling with.

On another note, if the Microsoft Natal project is what I'm getting the impression of, that would be a Wii destroyer.
  • it just hit me now that i've had a wii for a couple years, but i keep thinking i might get a ps3 so i could play some of the awesome new games that are being released. the wii doesn't feel anything like a current gen console. i use mine as a nes emulator more than anything.
  • best news ive heard....not the wii bombing in sales but mario galaxy 2 coming out earlier than planned. image
  • I'm not too worried about it. Sure there's plenty of really crappy third party games, but there's plenty of amazing games as well. Nintendo knows what they are doing.
  • Still havent bought a wii myself. There are so many, it will be like the gamecube system one day.

The gamecube was popular?  I hardly even noticed it.
  • If not for Wii Sports/Fit, the Wii would be the Gamecube 2. Pretty sad 2 titles made a system from morbidly dead last to wildly insanely in first.

Never said GC was vastly popular. (Although thinking about it, I would say it was popular enough since there are many GC games that had a players choice release).

I did a comparison saying that when this technology becomes obsolete, the systems will far outweigh the demand. As some of you said, its just a paperweight even now.
  • 90% of games for Xbox 360 and PS3 suck also. It's just games in general now days.

I havent been excited about a video game release since n64.  :S

  • I have a Wii and a PS3 and use them for vastly different game types. I use the Wii for more Party and General Use Gaming. (ie Lego Star Wars, Guitar Hero, Mario Franchise, The Fit, ect..) where I use the PS3 as a Blu-Ray Player (ie Racing Games, First Person Type games, ect...).. I really think that the XBox and PS3 are really in a different Gaming Category than the Wii.. The Wii is more of a casual Gaming Console where the PS3/XBoxes are more hardcore.. BTW it took the PS3 a long time before they really came out with any significant titles that could support the platform and they keep delaying one of the major ones that can. Nintendo is Genius at doing that...
  • I'm really annoyed by coining consoles as "casual" or "hardcore"...

    True that!

  • ^ pretty much 90% of the games on any console ever have sucked.

Problem with the Wii is that there are more casual type games available for it and it works really well for that style gaming. Were a system like the PS3 or the XBox tend to have more intense graphic and speed driven games.. and tend to pull them off better. In my Gaming world I have not really found that the Wii handles some of the more intense games with the same accuracy.. Now that being said I tend to like more casual type games over most of the intense stuff so my PS3 actually has far less games in my library.

I just do not see Wii developers creating epic style games (sans Nintendo) for the Wii.. Maybe, though that is not a limitation of the Wii Itself but that of the developers. however it is also a bit of Nintendos issue in that they target the Wii at Families and Kids over those 16-25 Year olds  that park themselves in front of the systems all day.

In my mind Casual gaming is playing something for maybe an hour or two and getting a load of enjoyment. Where hardcore is playing for hours trying to perfect strategies, finish epic story games, ect...

I am very "hardcore" when it comes to driving simulators.. Something that really only the PS3 (GT series) and PC's (iRacing) ect... have a hold on. Other than that I am very Casual in my gaming style and have always found the Nintendos to be more satisfying in that respect.

    Brion
  • Nintendo should buy Capcom.

That would be a killer deal, making games exclusive to Nintendo hardware.

Although, the problem would be they need to pay a lot of money and then cut the sale volumes for Capcom game, wich in turn will lead to a decrease of value of the Capcom company.... But in turn will get more exclusive titles to sell Nintendo hardware.

    I would do it!
  • Well, Brion, you must live in a different gaming world where driving simulators are actually fun...in the world most of us live in, we drive a car every day, and it's the most boring experience imaginable...I don't want to waste gaming time doing the same thing image

Also, I'm guessing you've never played an FPS on the Wii...the experience cannot be duplicated with a regular controller on one of the other consoles. I would go so far as to say that it's at least an order of magnitude better than an FPS on a PC, even.

Graphics only take you so far. The game-play is what matters.
