Power Player Super Joy III

I received a Power Player Super Joy III as a gift recently.  For those of you that don't know, it's basically a buttload of NES games built into a makeshift N64 controller.  it's obviously a pirate thing but I don't care. I only got to play the damn thing once just to see what it was all about, it seemed interesting enough. Now all of the sudden the damn thing wont even turn on. I changed the batteries, I plugged in the AC power adapter, I've tried everything and it still won't work... has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

  • When I got mine in a lot of NES stuff a while back, it came nicely pre-fried so I never even had the mispleasure of smelling it fry itself on first use. Go ahead, give it a good whiff, I bet the smell is set into the plastic now.

I wouldn't waste your time, sorry Jon. It's a goner image
  • Those units have very shoddy soldering jobs. I also received a fried one, and opened her up to find pieces of solder falling out, bridged pins, and cold solder joints. The folks on benheck recommend opening it up and checking for those things before trying to use them.
  • Well that sucks. I'm not even gonna bother opening it if that's the case. I have most of the games on it for NES anyway. Though I must admit "Bird Week" looked like an awesome game haha. Thanks guys. image
  • did yours come with a cart to plug in the back? some of them have the games on board and some have a separate cart. the cart is a famicom cart that can be played on a nes with an adapter.
  • no there is no cart; It's all built into the controller.
