Does ironing game boxes work?

I have heard a few things about ironing boxes do get rid of crushing/dents/creases, and I would like to try it. I just don't want to harm anything? Does anyone do this?

  • It won't make your box minty, but it should square it up enough to fold together properly. Just make sure you put a towel or wash cloth over top of it before ironing it out.

Oh thanks for letting me know man. I have a few n64 boxes from a lot that look really nice, except for the flaps. They are all crushes and bowed out you know?
  • I still have to try this, but I don't ever iron anything so I never bring it out. If my 50% polyester shirts still look like hell in the morning, I throw them in the clothes dryer for 5 minutes image

Try that with your boxes and lets us know how it works out. image
  • Not exactly the same thing, but you can remove dents and gouges from wood floors and furniture with a wet rag and an iron.

Depending on how glossy the box was, it could possibly survive something like that, and the temporary hot moisture will swell and dents or wrinkles and make them go away.
  • I have ironed quite a few boxes for Otto and they come out looking much nicer than what they started out at, but this is only done with ones that are crushed and messy. Usually after I iron them, I put them under something heavy to help flatten them a bit more.
