Trade pending with someone and haven't gotten any response.

I'm going to state the most used phrase here and say that if this is the wrong forum, I apologize...

I've got a trade that I pended with a new user (who shall remain nameless, unless I need to PM a mod). He was going to pay by money order and I asked that he send first. He told me on 03.05.10 that he sent late, but that he did send. I haven't received the money order and haven't heard from the guy. We pended the trade on 02.28.10 and he hasn't logged in since 03.11.10. It's now been at least 2-1/2 weeks since he sent.

I'm thinking about putting it back up for sale, but I want to do the right thing. Even if I sold it to someone else and finally did receive the MO, I could just return to sender. What should I do?

  • well realistically if you haven't received a response in over two weeks, he hasn't logged in for that long, AND you still haven't received the MO I really doubt it's ever coming. I would maybe send him a message saying he has 24 hours to respond or it goes back up for sale. That's about all you can do though, I just had something shipped to me from Japan that arrived in 8 days, if a regular letter was sent from within the US and it still hasn't shown up in 2 1/2 weeks either it's lost in the mail, or it was never sent in the first place. He may be trying to buy time cause he couldn't afford it yet or something, but if that's the case he needed to be upfront with you.

So I vote relist the item.
  • Thanks for keeping the issue generic, David, I really appreciate your keeping the issue confidential. I'd be willing to send an email to this user if you'd like to PM me, reminding him/her to log in in the next 24 hours to reply to you. -Dan
  • No problem, I'll Pm you in a moment.
  • I never heard back from him and he still hasn't logged in. I'm just going to put it back up for sale.
  • Okay, we gave it a shot. I checked and he hasn't emailed me back either. Can't say you didn't try image Good luck the second time around!
  • Yeah, I know. Dan, thanks for the help... I sincerely appreciate it!
