Where to buy shipping boxes?

I'm just wondering if anybody here has any tips on buying a bunch of boxes for shipping. I went to Office Depot and Office Max and they're charging around $3.60 for 1 box. I'm looking for larger boxes, to ship consoles and such. Any tips on getting them cheaper would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • check the free section of craigslist. you can find shipping materials on there sometimes. Also if you go to the post office they have flat rate shipping boxes. Hope this helps.
  • Yeah, unless you are trying to ship a Sega CD system, flat rate is the way to go.
  • I buy mine at the grocery store (Kroger here). They are about half the price as they are at Office Max. And I even have a company discount card from work for Office Max and its still cheaper at the grocery.
  • If you need a certain size, uline.com has a pretty good variety.
  • Anyone know the prices of two things PO boxes and Flat rate boxes - thanks

uline.com seems pretty reasonable, thanks for the link Dave!
  • I just go dumnpster diving behind shopping centers. I've never bought a box in my life and I ship like 10 systems a week. Also I use Media Mail....

Definitely. I asked PEDRO! a while back what he used and he told me the same thing.
  • uline.com ftw
  • If you work in an office you can ask whoever buys the office supplies if they have an empties they are getting rid of. WB Mason delivers our supplies in big boxes and we save some but usually end up recycling the rest because we have more boxes than we know what to do with.
