Sometimes that's good though...it's incentive to play games you haven't played before. And Tecmo NBA is one of the few basketball games I don't hate, but it's so damn long I could never bring myself to play through it to the end. Harlem Globetrotters I might beat again soon though...only gotta win once
Oh, and if anyone knows where the secret room in the castle in Hillsfar is, please let me know...I spent 2 hours searching and found sweet fuck all. If it matters, I'm working on the Thief scenario...think the Thief is the only one that even enters the castle (haven't played the Mage at all). Fighter went near it but not in, so I haven't had this issue previously.
Alfred Chicken Got the good ending. Took a bit of practice and sleuthing. Lots of secrets and a pretty good game once you get used to the controls. Its grows on you.
Going to conquer that last level in Air Fortress once I get a chance. It takes a lot of planning to get through some of these levels! Just need to take out the last level(first quest.)
Also I'm going to take a shot at Frankenstein. I've always liked this games oddness. This games kind of like if Conan and Castlevania had a baby.
On a related note I've found a secret area in Frankenstein that isn't documented anywhere else that I could find. Not even the 2 GameFAQs for the game mention this! After you beat the water dragon sub-boss on stage 1 normally you take the treasure and head back. Well I decided to mess around, and found that you can get your body stuck in the pillar on the right. If you do it just right you can use it to jump up to the top of the screen. From there you can walk above the sewer monsters all the way back. Now normally this would be nothing but a useful glitch. However it seems the programmers knew about this, or purposely put it there because I found 2 secret rooms up there! When you first climb the pillar in the sewer you can jump up where the first sewer grate is to arrive in a storage room that has the boomerang! There's another secret room on the way back(if you keep jumping up there you'll find it.) That room has either a potion, or an additional bar to your life bar(can't remember exactly.) The boomerang sure makes the first level A LOT easier!
Pretty crazy to find something like this. I found no other way to get up there without the pillar climb trick either. I'll probably tell one of the FAQ dudes to add it to the FAQ. Makes me wonder if there's any other secret areas like this in the other levels of the game that have gone undiscovered?

Wow, that's amazing that you found that. Finding a glitch or secret on your own is always exciting. Well done
This thread makes me sad I joined in July. Here's to hoping for a 2011 edition.
I just beat Fantasy Zone, so one more down.
No reason to be sad. Just means some of the more obscure titles are needed for the list...might find a new favorite Anyway, I'm about to edit the list for ya, it'll be there in a minute or so
Can I play the japanese version of this one? The bird is just way too awesome.
Yup; the only changes are the title screen and the pig being replaced by Kyoro-chan, I believe.
I'm not Wiz though.
I've already said I'll accept pirates or imports so long as any changes do not affect the actual gameplay. Since it's just the title and the graphic for one character, it's cool with me.
Just beat Cabal. First time I played it today. Really nice game. I thought it was difficult first but it became easy very fast. Didn't play it many times at all.
A terrible, repetitive game. It captures the Skipper/Gilligan dynamic perfectly, in the fact that Gilligan is constantly pissing you off, and you find yourself swearing at him. Every level involves finding clues and having Gilligan climb a tree, its stupid. Then more busy work going around talking back and forth. Did I mention this game sucks?
Another note: Ginger doesn't appear in the game. Apparently she had a falling out with the gilligan execs and refused to do gilligan tv movie things after the series ended, saying it ruined her career as a serious actress. She pissed them off, so they snubbed her from the game I assume? Harsh.
Tina Louise as Ginger Grant, the movie star. Louise clashed with the producers because she believed that she was to be the main focus of the show despite its title. Louise continued to clash with producers and was the only cast member who refused to return for any of the TV movies that followed the series' cancellation, saying that the role had destroyed her career as a serious actress. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilligan's_Island
Boy did i pick another shitter. This game can be beaten in about 10 minutes if your really good. The bad part is, getting that "good" is frustrating. The game basically boils down to a few tricky jumps, but its still enough to get your temper rising. Glad to knock another off the list, but man, this game... I know I wont be in any rush to play this game again soon. I might as well just try to beat every movie franchise tie-in game. Ive already got a good start:
Total Recall Rambo Cliffhanger Goonies 2 Turtles Series** Batman Dick Tracy Jaws Karate Kid Lethal Weapon Willow
EDIT: Wow, thats way more then I thought! If I just got the robocop series out of the way... I think I need to beat gremlines next!
After the crap that is Wayne's World, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Gremlins 2 (assuming you haven't played it yet). Thanks for saving me from having to beat Wayne's World
Yea, I love gremlins. Solid platformer. Sunsoft really was a badass company.
Blaster Master
Journey To Silius
Batman
I always seem to get screwed on Gremlins. Its one of those games you have to play the whole way through, because coming back in with a password later on screws you out of powerups and extra lives.
Pretty sure Ive made it to the last gremlin boss but I always have like half a heart at that point

That's just like Little Samson. Amazing game, but woe is the person who tries to use the passwords to continue.

Awesome, awesome game. Great 2 player fun too! I thought it was really tough as a kid. It took us all summer I think to finish it.
Also you can mark Uncharted Waters off the list. Finally got around to finishing it today
Was the ending to Uncharted Waters decent? That and Silent Service are the only 2 NES games I haven't played through yet. Guess I don't like games with a water theme. Oh yeah, and Miracle Piano.

But none of those are on your list...I'm confused...

Anyway, I haven't really played NARC in a long time, so it took me a couple/few tries!

And if no one takes care of Batman Returns, I'll this weekend when visiting mom. My nephew is crazy about that game.
Also I'm going to take a shot at Frankenstein. I've always liked this games oddness. This games kind of like if Conan and Castlevania had a baby.

It was well worth it beating Batman Returns. And you can mark it down for me, Wiz.
Next week... back to Gauntlet. It will fall.
And I know what you mean, Breakdown.
Frankenstein finally went down. Frankenstein's a pretty challenging final boss. The hit detection won't do you any favors either!
Next I plan to finish Air Fortress.

Yuh-huh....
All 3 games on King of Kings tackeled in one painful sitting tonight...lol. Gonna give a couple more previous-beats another whirl this weekend...
