installed new 72 pin connector - still having problems with some games
I installed a NOS 72 pin connector in a NES tonight. I had also tore apart each game, and cleaned them all by using some alcohol, toothbrush, and can air. Everything was good, but when I put the new connector in, I still have a few games that don't want to work. On some games I get orange blinking screens, some all black. The connector seems very very very loose (I had installed a NOS connector in another NES and the games don't seem near as loose as this one.
Any ideas on getting these games to work? I'm not really sure what to try.

Not sure if you've already done this but since you didn't mention it, I'd suggest you remove the connector again, clean the pcb contacts using the same method you used with the games, and disconnect the 4th pin on the 3193A chip. I've done it a dozen times and always had positive results and I'm sure many others here have too. If that doesn't work then you probably have an issue with the mother board and you should swap it out, or fix it if you can properly diagnose the problem. I'll include some links below to help you out.

Also, I know everyone here has their own cleaning techniques so here's mine if it'll help out:
1. rubber eraser to the contacts
2. tooth brush to clean up any rubber flakes that may have gone astray
3. rubbing alcohol
4. brasso brass polish (let sit until completely dry, 5-10 minutes)
5. remove brasso with a cotton rag or tissues
6. rubbing alcohol
7. quick dry with tissues
I know it sounds like such an arduous task but if you're patient with it you shouldn't encounter any problems. Make sure you place the game pcb back in the cartridge correctly too. Best of luck to you!
2. dont work: clean games with Weimers
3. dont work: try another pin connector:
4: dont work: buy toploader, they work like magic.
