When you refund, do you give back delivery fee's?

Just a quick question. A month ago, I bought a PSP battery to someone in another state (in Mexico), in Mercado Libre (like ebay). The guy sent me the item, but it was defective. He told me to send back through regular mail (1.5 dlls). After some time, he told me that all his batteries were defective, so he would give me a refund. After several weeks of giving excuses, he finally gave me a refund, but just for the cost of the battery. The delivery fee I paid originally was almost the same as the battery price itself (it was a Stamina battery, and he was the only one selling them).

Should I demand a full refund? He never had a "refund policy" clause in his ads. What do you think?

  • Yes, in this case he should refund shipping both ways. I would if it's my fault and I have before, and in this case it's clearly his fault.
  • Of course. Sucks that he has to take the hit, but it's HIS business and HIS risk. You just wanted a battery and shouldn't suffer for his misfortune.
  • thank you both, I'll take your advice into account.
