Neon Sign - "Nintendo" - BLUE but actual NEON, not plastic

Anybody familiar with this item?  It is the color of this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/EXCLUSIVE-NINTENDO-NEON-SIGN_W0QQitemZ180490470665QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2a06120509

but is constructed like this:

Actual "beer sign"-neon-quality - NOT plastic fake-neon like that first sign.  I'm parting ways with some of my cool items and am curious if anyone knows about this.  No picture at this exact second but will be able to take one later this evening.

Thanks!

  • Those were used at Gamestop, EB Games, etc. when Nintendo moved away from the red logo because they thought it depicted themselves as a game system for little kids...not sure on the value, they used to sell for $75-100
  • Thank you. Judging from your pic I guess you're super familiar with these types of items! I'll never forget a few years back when I stumbled on a Zelda test cart at a store and they wouldn't sell it to me, "oh we may have to fix a Nintendo"... Yeah, I'm sure they fixed plenty of those that year (2003-ish?). Next time I was in that neck of the woods and was going to stop in - out of business. Ugh!!

    Thanks again image
  • I have to thank you for posting this, i have that sign in the fist link, the blue one with plastic, ive been trying to figure out was it was worth and took some offers on it. I was hoping around 150 but the offers were all really low. Seeing that the auction ended at 165 makes me happy
  • No problem! Yeah, I think I'm going to toss my neon one on ebay today since I'm selling so much of my other cool things. I'm feeling very all-or-nothing lately.
